In the first week of our yatra, one day the heat was brutal, and as noon approached, we sought a shaded place to rest. In the scorching sun, we spotted a sacred grove across the road with a sacred fig and a peanut tree. We decided to make it our spot for the afternoon. As we crossed the road and made our way to the grove, a couple of men and boys were painting a wall nearby and were, for obvious reasons, intrigued. One of them walked towards us and said something we didn't understand, so we simply smiled. He left on his Luna bike and returned shortly after with a big bottle of chilled Frooti.
"It's too hot, and you've been cycling, you should drink," he insisted. Then the others joined, and they introduced themselves.
Nagaraju Anna (the one wearing shades and who gifted us the Frooti) is a painter who does advertisement wall paintings and also paints sculptures in the temples. He was really happy to meet us and insisted that we have Frooti. Soon after a selfie session and a bit of chit-chat, they left, saying, "Please rest." We were just in the first week of our yatra and already touched by the abundance this world had to offer.
