Private practice used to feel a bit like a dirty word. I remember feeling utterly consumed by the shame of it when I realised I couldn't work in the NHS anymore in 2018.
I am happy to say that there is SO much more energy, excitement and possibility out there in the community of mental health professionals turned business owners now. I see so much more appreciation of the amazing work we can do with our clients when we get to create the service and decide how we deliver for them.
Events like the private practice summit that I am speaking at would not have been possible then because so few people were showing up online talking about the joys and benefits of PP or how we can do it well.
