For a couple of years I have been planting the road side verges by the Aultbeag Road bus stop. There is a biodiverse reason for this. It is not totally for the miniature daffodils or the species tulips and crocus but to help protect the wild flowers that would be otherwise mowed flat by machine age tidying. You can see the speedwell and the cuckoo flowers hugging close to the protecting bulbs. More recently l have planted wild bluebells from our oak wood , some primroses, cowslips and other butterfly friendly plants. Later on in the year after our bluebells have finished more will go in on the other side of the road. So many folk who pass by have expressed their support.
