Mark Twain reportedly said that “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” I arrived in Indiana with preconceived notions, but I was proven wrong. The people I met were some of the kindest and most welcoming I’ve ever encountered.

From Neil, a Renaissance man who makes the best bread I’ve had in the states (yes, even better than Tartine), to Obi, a young entrepreneur running two successful businesses. The motley crew at the Three Crowns opened their home to complete strangers, reminding me that despite our differences, we’re all still people. Warsaw, IN wasn’t the home I was looking for, but these amazing people made me feel like I had one.
