I would like to thank you all have visited the show, Blond Laboratory. I have had the privilege to collaborate with super talented designers. I hope, this will inspire future collaborations.
My response to the Artifact was a task light named 'IKEBANA'. The original concept was supposed to be simple, emphasizing the sliding movement with primitive wooden geometries and a colorful knob. However, during a holiday visit to Kyoto, I discovered a unique and unexpected connection between this Artifact and Ikebana, the Japanese art of flower arrangement.
The act of sliding a thin rod into another cube resonates with the delicate process of placing a flower in a vase.
the left rod works as wall-facing ambient light and the right one is task/spot light lights desk top up. you can adjust its height and length by rotating those knobs.
