GetSpeed wins hectic opener to International GT Open season!
The International GT Open would start its 2024 season strong with 33 cars taking the lights out for Race 1 on Saturday at Algarve. The No.777 Olimo Racing R8 of Marcin Jedlinski/Karol Basz would lead the grid into turn 1 for what would be over a hour of hard, close contact racing.
The first stint of the race would be paced by Olimp Racing, with plenty of action ensuing behind but as the pit window closed, the No.9 GetSpeed AMG of Anthony Bartone/Fabian Schiller would rise to the lead and subsequently win over the No.27 Spirit of Race Ferrari of Marco Pulcini/Eddie Cheever III meanwhile the No.777 Olimp Racing settles in third.
The No.77 Al Manar Racing by GetSpeed and No.96 Team Motopark AMG rounds up the top 5 as Am class honors went to 18th placing No.65 Motopark AMG of Heiko Neumann/Timo Rumpfkeil.
