“Hola! I’m Vicki Gallegos, a 58 year old mom of 4 from the San Francisco Bay Area. Cabarete has become a second home to us since 2007. We’ve built our Dominican family here, watching our kids grow up alongside Dominican friends turned business owners.”
Beautiful! Tell us about your Butterfly Effect participation:
“I’ve been participating in BE events since around 2010 and have tried my hand at windsurfing, kiting, and even wing foiling! You’re never too old to learn new sports and challenge yourself. “
We totally agree, what’s your favorite moment of the BE: “I can’t pick just one favorite part of BE, but meeting incredible women from around the world, witnessing fearless individuals take on new challenges, and surviving crazy ocean conditions during downwinders are definitely highlights. And who can forget the epic pool parties at Millenium?”
Always a groundbreaking experience of course, do you think our event is good for the town?
“BE has become a well-known event in Cabarete, bringing the community together for a week of activities, community service, and fun. It’s amazing to see so many men volunteering to ensure our safety during sessions. The sisterhood of water women created by BE is truly special. “
