Years before Conway The Machine got shot in the face, Westside Gunn recorded his Doo-Doo-Doo, Benny told us about the plugs and Boldy knew the price of Tea in China, The Alchemist was
providing the soundtrack to my early years of listening to hip hop.
Here is part one of (I don’t know how many) all vinyl Alchemist mixes spanning from the late nineties to
the early two thousands.
The Alchemist produced tracks for the likes of Mobb Deep (including solo tracks for Prodigy
(RIP)), Dilated Peoples (including solo tracks for Evidence), The High and Mighty, Ras Kass
(controversially), Lloyd Banks (of G Unit fame) amongst many many others.
His beats always resonated with the sound I wanted to mix as a DJ and I want to invite people to
listen to his early production sound.
