Well that was a mixed day!
Practice(wet)- Decent session, for the most part the wet setup was good, too high on pressures
Heat 1(wet)- OK way to start the day, not miles off the pace but my specialty is the dry (P13-P12)
Heat 2(dry/slightly damp)- Great first few laps and we worked our way to P7, unfortunately collided with another kart and lost the chain (P14-DNF)
Heat 3(dry)- an incident ahead made my mate @charlie_p_racing go up in the air and he landed on the front of my kart, luckily only my hand was injured (P12-DNF)
Final(dry)- had a decent start, was holding my own around P10 I believe then lost the chain on the exit of the bus stop. (P14-DNF)
I learnt on my first race day however, I learnt racecraft, setup changes and effects and refined my lines.
Next time I will have a sprocket protector on either side so the chain can’t jump out, I will be more aware of drivers behind me and I will continue to hit my goals based on racing lines. You can Win or you can Learn, you can never Loose! 💪 🏆
Next up is a test day at @lydd_kart_circuit in 2 weeks for a fun little break from Cambo, courtesy of @accesskartinguk.
