IPL fans must have felt a sense of Deja vu as they watched Jake Fraser-McGurk going ballistic at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Tata IPL 2024’s match 43 against Mumbai Indians on Saturday. Winning the toss and opting to field first, MI bowlers were taken to the cleaners as the DC openers went on a rampage from the word go. Scoring their highest powerplay total in the IPL history, DC batters smashed 91 runs on the board in first six overs.
Chasing down a target of 258, Mumbai Indians suffered a disastrous start as Delhi Capitals bowlers kept up the pressure amid flurry of boundaries. At the end of powerplay, Mumbai Indians had lost three wickets. Khaleel Ahmed picked up two wickets – Rohit Sharma and Suryakumar Yadav. Mukesh Kumar got rid of Ishan Kishan.
