'I am a painter and a teacher of Art and History of Art. in My role in education informs my work. I am interested in individuals within society and systems. Much of my work is based around my local environment of East London and I am endlessly fascinated by how pictures work. I paint people and places that hold meaning for me and I employ symbolism and art historical references in my imagery, resulting in narratives which combine real, imagined and borrowed features, both in lino print and in paint.'
