Some 80’s and 90’s cereal boxes from my cereal box collection.
Ralston’s “Nintendo Cereal System” is from 1988. It represents 2 popular Nintendo games at the time—Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda. It had two flavors inside—fruity and berry in a variety of cereal shapes.
Ralston’s “Breakfast with Barbie” cereal from 1989 was a 4 grain fruity flavored cereal in the shapes of “B’s” , cars , bows, hearts, and stars.
Ralston’s “Nerds” cereal had two flavors. One “ Orange ‘n Cherry” the other “Grape ‘n Strawberry”. It was a “tiny tangy crunchy cereal”.
Ralston’s “Spider-Man” cereal was made in 1995. It was sweetened rice Chex-like “web” pieces with marshmallows.
Ralston’s “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cereal” from 1989 had “ninja” shaped sweetned Chex-like pieces with marshmallows. One variation had pizza shaped ones.
Post’s “Crispy Critters” originally was from 1962 but my box is from 1987. It was a multigrain lightly sweetened “toasted animal shaped” cereal.
Kellogg’s “Rice Krispies Treats Cereal” is from 1993. This is the original box. It was exactly how it sounds ….clustered trice Krispies great vibe sweetened cereal.
General Mill’s “S’mores Crunch” ( later as S’mores “Grahams” ) is from 1982. It had chocolate coated graham pieces with marshmallow bits.
Quaker’s “King Vitamin” is from 1970 but my box is from 2000. They were corn and oat “sweetly crisp little crunchy crowns”.
NONE of these cereals exist anymore. Which would you like to see make a comeback the most ? Which box is the coolest?
