Let me introduce you all to the main reason why I have been traveling to Texas so much lately, my new little brother:
Knight #150 Joel Vasquez ⚔️
Aka “Phoenix Knight” 🔥
Aka “Fireball Knight” 🥃
@joelvvas
Joel, I cannot be any prouder of you. It has truly been a blessing getting to know you, and mentoring you throughout this entire process. All the brothers weren’t joking about you & me being so much alike. I am so, so incredibly happy that we have finally made it to this moment. We have both gone through a lot to get to this point, which makes your crossing all the better. You are going to do excellent things for the brotherhood, UNT and within your own life. I am super excited for what the future holds for the both of us. ⚔️
And to the brothers of Omega Delta Phi at UNT’s Alpha Chi chapter, thank you. I really appreciate you all trusting me, and giving me the chance as an alumni to have this opportunity to mentor Joel as his big brother. I know it seemed very unrealistic for an alumni who lived in California to be able to be a big for someone in Texas, let alone travel between the two places with ease, but I made it work and cannot thank y’all enough for trusting me to ensure we’d get to this day. 🙏🏼
Lastly, I’d like to leave everyone with a fun fact. A major reason why I went Greek in college is because I always wanted to have a big family tree. After I crossed into ODPhi and almost immediately became an alumnus, I thought my chances to be a big were out the window, but thankfully that wasn’t the case. That’s why I cannot thank @untknights and @jayjohn.9 enough for giving alumni like me a chance to still be a big brother after graduation. I am so grateful to be a brother of ODPhi. 🎓
Our little tree is finally growing, and I cannot be any happier. Congrats again, little! 🫶🏼🛡️ #odphi #omegadeltaphi #fraternity #greeklife #unt
