It's not just about arena work...
Of course all of our horses spend a pretty solid amount of time in the sand arena or the cutting pen but turning out good horses isn't a linear process.
Horses do get arena sour and a good mind is possibly the most important thing a horse needs to bring to the program. While time off work is great for the body, horses also need different mental stimuli and we make sure we give these horses some work to do.
Every horse gets time turning out the buffs, bringing home wayward cows and helping with evening chores makes them more sure footed, relaxed, helps them find a sense of urgency and they do seem to enjoy the time ðŸ¤
