Nature's wheel moves around again...
Today is popularly known as, Mayday! This has always been a very special time that marks the start of summer and the hotter energies ahead. Historically it has been a time when people begin to wake up, get that spring in their step and start to feel good, shrugging off their coats and basking in the increased warmth of the sun.
Traditionally at this time, and since ancient times, fire festivals were held to herald the beginning of summer, new life, and fertility. The fires were a form of ritual prayer asking for a warm growing season, protection and to call in masculine sun energy to warm up the earth and bless the people, animals and crops with abundance.
This time was known as, 'BELTANE'.
The fire festival practice of Beltane (‘Fire of Bel’) refers to the Celtic sun god Belenus.
Beltane is one of four fire festivals thoughout the wheel of the year (you may have celebrated Imbolc, Lughnasadh & Samhain with me in the past).
Many fire celebrations and festivals still take place all across the world to tap into this ancient energy and manifest whatever fertility, protection and abundance they are drawn to.
Today is therefore a powerful time to reflect, meditate and align ourselves with the energies of the season.
Whatever your plans are today, make sure you give yourself some time out in nature. You may want to try journalling, to get a sense of what you are ready to recieve and give yourself a period to reflect or meditate while sitting in nature.
Even 5 mniutes in nature can lift a soul and bring rejuvenation 💖
Expect to feel a new lease of life and a blast of fresh energy this week!!
