Activities abound at the Day Nursery of Abilene centers including with the children at the Cedar Street Center.  A recap includes how the infants enjoy going outside and getting some fresh air.  Those in the 12–18-month-old classroom had a great time doing artwork that was inspired by the book, 3 Billy Goats Gruff.  Children ages 18–24 months enjoyed stretching their legs while riding on the tricycle. Young 2-year-olds enjoyed gathering woodchips into their buckets. This helps with their fine motor skills as they are using their fingers to pick up the woodchips. It also helps with crossing the midline of the body and hand-eye coordination. 3-year-old class and younger 4s classroom are learning to match bug shadows.  This helps with gross motor development. Older 4s and 5s classes had a field trip to Hardin-Simmons University to experience the annual Western Heritage Day events which is always a hit and full of fun learning! The school-age classes enjoyed finger painting a flower and learning about different houses around the world. The children worked on drawing their own houses. #dnaisinmydna #WhyIGive #AbileneGives
