The exhibition showcases major works by these inventive artists who consistently defied art-world conventions. #LSSAAProject Highlight✨🪐 It was a wonderful experience working with the best team @nicolehollissf in our client’s elegant wabi-sabi inspired home. ✨✨✨ In the Portola Valley Collection project, we discovered the perfect piece by artist Hong Hao that integrated with the interior aesthetics while also celebrating the client’s Asian heritage. As one of the most active conceptual artists in China since the late 1990s, Hong is known for his dexterous and witty handling of ready-made materials. Over the past decade, the artist has increasingly focused on the expressive potential of the material itself, continuing his observation and reflection on the social construction of value. In the artwork, Hong arranges ancient porcelain fragments—purchased on a trading platform for cultural relics—into a specific pattern that recalls cosmic images such as the asteroid belt.
