Here they are in all their colorful brightness! The different variations of our classic beaded bracelet, Los Cruces de Caminos. This is one of the first bracelets I ever made, and it is still one of my favorites! Not to get too “woo woo” on you, but I make these with the gemstones centered so they touch the skin. Lapis is believed to bring a sense of peace and calm. The turquoise, which is my favorite, is believed to be healing, bring protection, and balance. I always say every little bit helps, and it can’t hurt, so I make pieces with gemstone spirituality in mind. Are there any gemstones i should think about using more of? As we make our way through the alphabet, we have come to to the letter I. And as everyone who was the victim of a wooden spoon knows, I stands for Involtini. • • With so many variations to speak of, involtini is best described as thinly sliced meat or vegetables, rolled and stuffed with a delicious filling. • • Having to pick a favorite, I’d have to say it’s a toss up between Chicken involtini with prosciutto and fontina, and your classic beef braciole. But given the fact that the kids at @riograndeschool , @desertmontessori , and Temple Beth Shalom school are getting meatballs this week, I figured something a little lighter for an off day meal would be a little more appropriate. • • With that, we went with Zucchini Involtini, which is simply some sautéed zucchini, rolled and stuffed with a three cheeses, spinach, and herbs filling, topped with mozzarella and baked to perfection.
