🌳 Wild woods 🍄 we had rain, shine, hail, and several wrong turns 🤣 we know these woods well, but today they seemed to be taking us down paths we hadn’t trodden before, some new views, some aggressive rhododendron’s that got caught in my hair 😅, and lots of new little lakes that the weather has left in its wake. G O I N G • D A R K A true autumnal morning here, moody skies and a crisp breeze. We have decided to embrace the season and paint our family room a dark shade (it’s actually been decided since April). Children are going out for the morning and we are finally getting on to clearing our study. We even got a skip (just to give context of the amount of cr*p in there). Wish us luck! • B A L A N C E • It’s been a bonkers four weeks for me. I started back at work after three years out having my two children. What a change! While it’s been wonderful it’s also been hard and I feel as though as a result everything on here has taken a back seat - I miss you all! I had forgotten how fast paced the world is - we rush about and sometimes the weeks just speed by in a blur. Our daughter turned three last week and we held our first kids birthday party - that was almost more challenging than managing my emails pouring into my inbox 🤣🎈. I’m down in London for some office time today and I miss my family already but am grateful for this opportunity and my lovely colleagues. Getting the balance right can seem an unattainable pursuit but one can only try. I commend all those working parents out there who grapple with finding this balance. If you have achieved it - let me know! Any and all tips welcome! When I get home this will be one of the first things I see when I open the door. @treasuredbouquetslady really outdid herself with this beautiful wreath for us. F I R E S I D E • C H A T S Here is the fire place in our family room snug. We are hoping to have this up and running soon - after the purchase of some very robust fire guards (all suggestions welcome btw!). The chimney sweep is due and we hope to be happily enjoying our open fire in the coming weeks.
