Hey! I see a lot of new people here! So, let me introduce myself) My name is Eereen (full name Eereenaa and for friends who can pronounce 🤪 Eeraa) I am a visual artist, working in different techniques. Now I mostly paint with acrylic paints, but also deep in love with watercolor, coloring pecils & alchohol markers🤩 I also create and teach people to create works in the style of Ukrainian folk art such as: Petrykivka painting, Vytynanka (UA papercut), Pysanka (UA Easter egg) and Kolyda decoration(Christmas decoration). I like balance, so after patient and precise work with a Petrykivka or Vytynanka a cutout with a scalpel), I usually draw quick expressive sketches or create bright collages. My inspiration is the immeasurable nature, the fragility and colorfulness of flowers and the love that saves the world. Thank you for your interest in me and my art. These two drawings are the most important to me at the moment. They don't have a title yet, so... "The one on the left" 2024, originated from a silly sketch of a frog enjoying a cocktail and a book, unaware of the heron with a crazy look in his eye about to devour him. Then I started thinking that it might have a deeper meaning, so I decided to turn it into something way more dramatic. A good way to explain the idea behind this piece is this quote from the series Dark: "Every decision for something is a decision against something else." 🖤✨ "The one on the right" 2020, is the first drawing I made in this style and with many different elements in the composition. Also, it's my first big drawing, after a series of sketches, inspired by a recurring dream. Basically the first drawing I was really satisfied with and still am, 4 years later, which is very uncommon for me. Apart from the style and size, they have one more thing in common: it took me about 2 years to finally start making them, after the idea took form in my mind. Yes, I overthink. Hello friends! It has been 2 years since I introduced myself to the new faces round here🦋 My name is Amber & I’m a 25 yo artist living in Brighton, UK☀️ I have been doing this full time since June 2021 and I spent the first 3 years in the teeniest studio (it was so crammed I could barely move which is why you’d only ever see my desk) but recently I moved into a bigger room so I can create larger pieces more freely & share much more of the process with you! It was about time. I get my inspiration from living on the coast, but also from photography and my own travels. With every painting I think about how I’m feeling and channel it into seascapes and landscapes and nothing makes me happier as an artist than hearing your own experiences and interpretations of my pieces. Art has allowed me to listen to the stories of and connect with so many new people & I’ll always be grateful for you🩷. I love the way art brings people together throughout time and this year I’ve been making an effort to learn much more about art history which has given me a new appreciation for art as a whole. Hello all! I realised recently (thanks @joverendillustration ) that I haven't really introduced myself properly to some people who may have followed recently. Hello there! I'm based in Old Trafford, and can often be seen hot desking in the gorgeous @otcreativespace Originally I'm from West Cork in Ireland, and that landscape, those colours and nature continue to feed my creative inspiration. My debut book Big Dance came out in 2021, published by @childsplaybooks and was long listed for the 2022 Klaus Flugge, as well as recently being added to this years Summer Reading Challenge by @readingagency and @createcharity I love creating colourful, silly and playful work for children, as well as landscape based illustrations for all ages. Meet the German Artist, our creative mind, Manja McCade. Manja McCade is a Leipzig-based freelance artist who finds joy in expressing herself through abstract and expressionistic art forms. Her first exhibition in London at the LeDame Gallery in 2016 was a resounding success, with her piece “Nowhere To Go” chosen as one of the top five works out of over 800 applications. Since then, Manja’s work has been showcased in Frankfurt/Main, Berlin, New York, and Miami, among other cities. In 2019, Manja’s art took an exciting new turn when Yoko Ono selected her conceptual piece, “Lets Heal The World With Love,” to be exhibited alongside her works at the MdBK in Leipzig as part of the water event in her “Peace Is Power” exhibition. This experience spurred Manja to explore other forms of artistic expression, such as installations and performative art projects, alongside her painting. Manja’s commitment to freedom of expression extends beyond her art. In 2022, while curating an international group exhibition in Leipzig, Manja created the thought-provoking and emotive performative art installation “Belmarsh Live.” This installation is a reconstruction of the prison cell where Julian Assange, the Wikileaks founder, has been held for over 5 years. The exhibition also featured works by acclaimed artists such as AiWeiWei, Daniel Richter, and Da�niel Lismore. Manja is passionate about fighting for the freedom of Julian Assange and uses her art to draw attention to his unjust imprisonment. ~✨ Artist (Re)Introduction ✨~ because knowing a bit about your tattoo artist before getting jabbed a billion times can be really really nice. My name is Birdy (it/he), and I’m a trans, spicy brained, chronically ill tattoo artist based in PDX, Oregon. The basics: My tattoo practice is centered firmly around consent and body autonomy. All bodies are welcome! The studio where I tattoo (@birdhouse.tattoo ) is ADA and filled with many Queer/Trans artists. It’s more of a spa than it is a street shop, so it tends to be pretty neurodivergent/disability friendly too! As a trans person who suffers severely from chronic illness, it’s wonderful to have an accessible work place as well as a career that I can realistically manage. Which, speaking of career, I’m a BABY at tattooing! I’m coming up on my one-year anniversary of getting my Tattoo license at the end of June. Prior to tattooing I was a digital artist and print maker (hiiii a lot of you know me from those days). I loved it and tons of my prints are still up on my online shop or in person at Birdhouse. Astrid Ebner performt Fragmente ihres Debütromans „Blaupausenwelt“ mit Sound- und Synthbegleitung. In einer nahen Zukunft ist Genmanipulation bereits gängige Alltagspraxis. Drei Paare, versuchen, sich ihren Kinderwunsch zu erfüllen. Die meisten Krankheiten sind ausgemerzt und mittels Geneditierung werden möglichst perfekte Kinder geboren. Während die einen sich einen Sohn mit mitteleuropäischen Gesichtszügen, aber schwarzer Hautfarbe editieren lassen und versuchen, mit ihrem Videoblog die Welt zu einen, quälen die anderen Gewissenskonflikte: Übertragen wir unsere familiären Traumata auf nachfolgende Generationen? Was rechtfertigt, ein natürlich gezeugtes Kind in diese »schöne neue Welt« zu setzen? Was kostet Elternschaft? Today, we are introducing you to the artist Frank Paul (DE) from our Mini Maxi Print 2023/2024 exhibition. 📌You can find his work on our webshop : https://webshop.heike-arndt.dk/?s=frank&post_type=product Frank Paul is a german sculptor who brings out vivid and ironical symbols by working with paint. He breathes life into his works by applying a particular texture to mundane figures, often articulated around almost ridiculous postures, which challenge anyone who comes to observe them to smile. A consumerist society nourished by a capitalist scheme is always depicted therein, dialogue with creatures that take possession of social codes. Frank Paul articulates his work between humour and some kind of loneliness materialized by the wenght the individual must carry by himself. But also, subtly embedded well-known brands, which nonetheless depend on a brutality revealing the body. Kristina Tran is a multidisciplinary artist and graphic designer living and working in Rochester, MN. She is always creating a piece of art, it’s her happy place and you could say a bit of an obsession! She works in a variety of mediums including fiber, jewelry, clay, marker, pen, pastels, paint, and color pencil… just to name a few. She has never met a medium that she didn’t love! Meet the artist! Hi! I’m Lavender (or Lav) and I’m 18 years old! I live in Scotland, I’m non-binary and my pronouns are they/xe/fae I primarily do BSD fanart (mostly Dazai) but I also draw my OCs! I’ll have to do a comparison of me drawing my first OC now compared to her first design. I mostly do traditional art as I’m better at it than I am at digital, but I’m trying to get better at it. Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've introduced myself and shared a photo of myself to new followers. (Being a photographer, it's not often I'm in front of the camera.) My name is Patricia, and I'm a self-taught artist. I paint, draw, photograph, sculpt, craft, and create a little bit of everything. The natural world influences what I create, and my sense of humour often puts a twist on it. Five fun-random-weird facts about me: 1. I cannot draw straight lines to save my life. I have to use a ruler. 2. I'm a plant addict with over 80 different species of tropical plants in my home. 3. My favourite movie/ series is Jurassic Park. I've probably seen it 100 times. 4. I LOVE breakfast foods. I could eat omelettes any time of day, and often do. 5. My artwork has been featured/ published in Canada and the United States by tourism companies, media/ news stations, galleries, magazines/ newspapers, and I've lost count of the social media accounts. Marina grew to love nature from an early age, pursued that as an animal keeper at Moscow Zoo, and later became a biologist. "In the Russian forest, I knew all the birds and animals and knew the names of all plants. "But when I migrated to Australia in 1999, I suddenly felt lost in the Australian bush with nature. It was all so different! I did not feel the spirit of the land or the connection between me and the Australian forest!" Despite her initial doubts, she began a series of workshops in art education, ranging from Chinese painting, collage, acrylics, painting realism and mixed media. She said: "In my landscape, nature and nature-themed abstract works, I reflect on the beauty of the world around us. While I know that many artists focus on nature as their subject, I hope to bring a different and thus outstanding perspective."
