Anagrams are very good ways to help a child in spelling. Give the child a word, ask that the child brings out as much words as he/she can. Go through the words together, guide the child to rule out meaningless words and practice the meaningful words. This is one of the technique that I use to teach children with spelling challenge. Dear teachers and parents, How well do you know your children's/pupils' learning capabilities. In today's post, I want to talk on the types of achievers that we have in regards to learning. Generally, we have three main learners in every school setting. β The achievers/Over achievers: Children/pupils/students who fall under this category can also be referred to as gifted, brilliant, intelligent, smart π€ etc. These children are always ready to learn, they are super curious, they ask intelligent questions. When given work to do, they do beyond the assigned task. They understand concepts taught quickly and can relate it to life situations. The average achievers: these particular children are also smart, intelligent and bright. They don't do more than the assigned task. For some of them, if challenged positively they can become achievers. They might not understand concepts taught immediately but when they do, it sticks with them for a very long time. Underachievers: Children in this category can also be referred to as slow learners. Their ability to understand concepts taught is slow compared to other learners. These children need a lot of attention, repitition, before they can understand. Most times, they have to be separated from the rest of the class and taught separately before they can understand. Most times, children who fall under this category are always very good in extra curricular activities such as painting, sports, games and other fun activities. It is important to know the category where your child/children/pupils or students fall under, so they can get the right assistance for them to get better. Once upon a time, I wanted to be an author but I was too scared because of the depth of things I wanted to write about. So I opted to go the pseudonym way. This was to be my pen name and I was set to use it. However, along the line the dream changed and so did I. I no longer felt the need to hide my identity and I no longer wanted to expose that which I had wanted to. So the name died a natural death. I just concluded an online class with one of my learners. It was time to say goodbye. I bid her. And she said, "I'm not tired yet; I still want to learn, please.".
