The other week, I went to an important and confrontational meeting. God sent me there, and to be honest I was dreading going to that meeting. It did not help that my environment where I was staying at (family house) was not empowering or encouraging to me. Every negative “logical” scenario and “facts” spoken to me I had to personally block going into my ears and out. I simply put my boundaries against negative spirits that threaten to dissuade my faith in God that He will work things out since He sent me there. I had to ask a family member to pray for me instead. Good thing, I knew how to pray and I am so secured in Jesus. I messaged my church community (co-leaders) to pray with me and rally with me in the spirit as well. Their replies were honey to my soul. The meeting was long and arduous but you will be happy girl to hear that it was a success! Reflecting back on this situation, I realised having an encouraging support system proved to be important yet again. If you’re someone who struggles with fear of failure, or an environment that projects fear and limits God’s work in your life. Or worse, they’re the ones who pounce and smash your self-esteem, further drowning you in your insecurities… Get out of there! If you’re not strong enough to fight them away like how I did, you need to find a way to leave that space. If it’s a friend group, leave that friend group. If it’s your home, pray and ask God’s guidance for another home, where you can be nurtured purely in God’s presence. Next, Find a community of Jesus lovers and followers, who will love and help nurture you in your spiritual and other aspects of your life- propelling you closer to Jesus. Dr V took @gabbybernstein 's Masterclass a couple of years ago at the start of her storytelling journey through anthology collaborations and stand alone projects. Then last year Vanessa flew to Melbourne for a live event with Gabby. After the event they were chatting and as Dr V expressed her gratitude, she also shared copies of her books. And then today, when opening Gabby's newsletter, there was the photo from that night of Gabby Bernstein celebrating Dr V's books. I am so thrilled that I was the creator of one of the books Gabby is holding, The Power to Rise Above. And Global Girls from @kmdbooks is also uplifting.
