Today is orange ✨🧡 This past year orange has become one of my favorite colors to shoot. Looking back funnily enough, orange was the center color of the first official shoot I did with a model. If you scroll to the last photo you’ll see one of the photos from that first shoot from 2020 To be honest, I was so nervous. I’m so lucky I got to work with such a talented model for my first go around 💕 @lauryyyyyyyynnn I remember getting on set, and she just started posing, and I was blown away! Before this I’d only ever shot friends or family, and shooting with someone who actually knew what they were doing was a game changer . I remember feeling like I didn’t give enough direction at the end of the shoot. Having never worked with a model before I was not accustomed as to how to direct a model. For my next shoot I studied every single pose I was dreaming of, so when I got on set I could be the best director possible. Now, directing is one of the things I am best at. Not to toot my own horn or anything , buttttttttt I’ll get models and clients telling me frequently that they appreciate my direction or that my direction on set is so helpful. (This is like the best compliment ever!!!!) I’ve worked so hard on this aspect of my work and I’m so proud to see how it has paid off on set throughout the years 🥰 ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨ I’ve got some exciting news to share with y’all tomorrow 🎉🎉🎉 yippppeeeee I’ve been working hard on something new and I can’t wait to tell you what it is 💕

This week I’ve been working on slowing down. Taking everything one step at a time. Taking shorter days when I finish everything on my to do list and not forcing 8 hour work days on myself I’ve been allowing myself to step away from a lot of my backend business work and back into my creative space and it’s been wonderful 🥰💕 I haven’t been giving myself as much time recently to just create, I’ve been squeezing it in. Soooo we all know that getting in-front of the camera can be scary! There is a lot of fear that can come; how do I pose, do I look ugly, am I doing this right, do I look ridiculous? Really what it all comes down to is knowing how to pose right? Here’s the thing, learning to pose and model is a skill! Being photogenic isn’t something you are born with, it’s a learned skill So it’s okay if you haven’t fully mastered it! But for some reason, we’ve all decided we need to be instantly good at it otherwise we judge ourselves as ugly I get a lot of clients coming into their shoot nervous about posing, which is totally understandable! Sometimes they ask if they should practice posing or if there is a video I can send them to show them how, but here’s the thing….. When you work with a professional photographer you don’t need that, cuz I got you! That’s my job! To show you how to pose, to pose you, make you look stunning, feel like a star, and take away all that fear and anxiety that usually comes when stepping in-front of the camera ✨🥰 Yesss posing can be hard, but it’s so simple when you’ve got someone to guide you through it! What I have discovered is sooooo much of it is about confidence and willingness to be vulnerable In order you to get your best shots you have to be willing to look ridiculous in others and try new things and push yourself outside of your comfort zone ✨ And coming in with confidence is going to take your photos to the next level every time! You just gotta own it, no matter how ridiculous you are being 💕❤️

Photographers, if you are just starting, stop working on your website ✋🏻 🛑 Okkkkkk so that’s not to say you shouldn’t have a website….. but when you first start your business it’s easy to spend a lot of time working on a website, I know I did. And it was a big distraction for me from what was really going to move my business forward 🤷🏼♀️ I spent so much time working on my website before I even knew my brand and I scraped the whole thing so many times in the end 🤪 Keep it simple! All you need is an about me page, a home page, a contact page, and a pricing page. That’s it! Keep it simple!!! ✨✨ When you are first starting it’s hard to know how to style your site, what colors you should use, what fonts for your brand, how to frame your brand, etc etc etc. If you are working on brand messaging and it’s not coming, that means you don’t have the answers yet 🤗 Put it down, do some shoots, build your portfolio, work on building your social media and marketing, and your experience. Diversity is a core value of my identity. I am absolutely convinced that cultural diverse societies (or on a smaller scale cultural diverse groups) are the answer and not the problem. I dare to say so after facilitating literally hundreds of workshops around the globe. But they need to be facilitated - emotionally - through empathy, structure and deep conversations, then the results are amazing. To see people from different cultural background opening up, sharing anxiety, losses, pride and success with sensitivity to find common ground to create and grow together, that’s simply beautiful. I LOVE IT and can’t get enough of it, last week with this group was another proof of how much we can learn from each other, how much more we humans have in common that connect us, than things that separate us. The great news is that I am not alone, and I want to use this post to THANK all the other facilitators, coaches, mentors, teachers, parents etc. out there, actually all the caring people with true human interest in others to bring them together and coach and facilitate them to grow and be better people. Every single time that you facilitate diverse groups and inspire them to see beyond the superficial, to encourage them to dare and evolve, you give hope towards a better society, because what they receive they will give to others. I continually say that patience is one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned from running a business, and yet I’m always forgetting that and relearning it 🤷🏼♀️ I think in this day and age where things can happen so quick and it feels like people around us go viral all the time, that we begin to expect everything to move quickly I think it’s a misconception that we have this chance of going viral any minute and when we do we’ll gain thousands of followers and be suddenly successful 👀🙃 But in my experience it just doesn’t work like that, what it really takes is consistency and patience 🙌🏻 I so often want to jump to the next step before I’m even ready, I want my growth to double and triple right now, but that’s just not how it works! Good things come with time and with a lot of hard work usually 😭 I think it’s really easy to look around us and see the people who are younger than us and apparently more successful with a million dollar business they built in a year, or the person in your field with a million followers and still growing, and it’s easy envy that. But we also have to consider the time it took to get them there and the work that they had to put in for that. Nothing like that happens overnight! Over the last few years, my professional life has changed dramatically. Since the age of 18, I have trained and worked in various roles to support young people. That was the career path I chose. I worked incredibly hard at it. And I loved it. Until I didn’t. Until it took more from me than I could give and the stress and exhaustion overtook the reward and passion. So I made a change. It was a leap into the unknown. The only things that made me feel secure in that choice were a)knowing I was going to be working with brilliant people and b) knowing it would give me the opportunity to write. I had nothing else. I moved into a role that sits at a strange intersection between two industries- construction and public relations. Two industries I had absolutely no experience of and very little knowledge about. Three years after taking that leap, I’m proudly representing the company as Director of Business Development, working with a team that I absolutely adore, and have developed a real interest and passion for the build environment. I never ever saw myself in this kind of role or industry. But I genuinely love it. One of the things I am now doing increasingly is public speaking and networking - which is an interesting challenge to my naturally introverted tendencies. But it’s ever clearer to me that introversion isn’t contrary to public facing roles. In fact, there’s something quietly powerful about this kind of introverted leadership. I’m just at the beginning of settling into this new facet of my professional identity and it’s a process I’m excited for. And it made me want to chat about it on here, because one of my favorite things to talk about is posing 💕 Modeling isnt about a pretty face or the perfect body or having the best skin, or being that societal ideal of beauty - it’s about letting go of vulnerability it’s about having the confidence and courage to let go. It about embracing you. ❤️ The best shots always come from the weirdest ideas and you have to be willing to say ya this might come out terrible or it could be great The hardest part is letting go of the fear that you might not look good in every shot there will plenty of “ugly” photos, but you just might create a gem To create something truly interesting, eye catching and show stopping you have to do things that might feel uncomfortable and hard. You can’t half ass it, you gotta show up with the energy. You can feel the energy in a photo, you can’t fake it, you gotta push past that fear and awkwardness and just do it And when you bring that energy to a shoot, you can create magic. I’ve spent countless hours pouring through magazines, finding photographers and models who inspire me and then standing infront of the mirror and practicing the poses I’ve found while researching ☺️ Trying out poses on yourself first is sooooo helpful, it helps you better communicate it to your subject Practicing when you are shooting someone is great, but it is such a help to also study poses in your free time too. Pick up a photo and figure out why it works, what about it draws you in. What is working, what isn’t working. Directing and posing, here weeeee gooooooo ☺️🤩 This is one of the biggest concerns I hear from clients, “I don’t know how to pose” or “bear with me because I’m awkward infront of the camera” But here’s the thing, as a professional photographer, that’s our job to pose and direct you. To make it a simple, easy, and fun process 🤩💕 No one needs to come in with tons of practice and skill. Let’s talk about education! 🤗 Why is education so important as a photographer, but also for any business owner? There is just so much you don’t know coming into any business, there are always going to be questions. When I started my business I immediately invested in a coach. With the help of a coach I was able to go from booking $165 shoots to within 2 months booking $1000 shoots 👀 I was able to build my whole backend system and automation in a month, with the help of coach, something that can take people a whole year without help. Education helped me sky rocket my business and get me to where I am so much faster! I have constantly been investing in education, coaching, guides, workshops, content days and more. In order to grow I need to keep learning how I can continually provide the best experience possible for my clients 💕 If I had never invested in education where would I be? I’d probably still be living at home with my parents, making progress but not ready to support myself yet. «КІНОЛЯПИ» із здобувачами ФЖ🎥. Сьогодні, 8 листопада, здобувачі вищої освіти 4 курсу факультету Журналістики на парах англійської мови розбирали дуже цікаві презентації «кіноляпи» відомих серіалів та фільмів. 💻Презентувати свою роботу англійською мовою мав кожен студент-журналіст. Серед найцікавіших робіт були презентація-розповідь про російський серіал «Вороніни», американський - «Академія амбрела», культовий серіал «Друзі» та не менш відому турецьку сагу «Величне століття. Роксолана». ⚡️Кожен здобувач вищої освіти обирав предмет своєї презентації індивідуально, зважаючи на смаки та кіно-продукт, який його вразив. 🎞Серед презентованих «кіноляпів», були моменти з раритетної стрічки 1942го року фільму-драми «Касабланка» та тінейджерської фентезі саги «Сумірки». 📌Також, майбутні журналісти взяли в приклад культовий серіал від кіно-платформи Netflix «Паперовий будинок». У кожній з представлених робіт була підбірка яскравих ляпів, які не помітно навіть після декількох переглядів стрічок. Тому організована пара кафедрою іноземних мов № 2 була не тільки цікавою, а й дуже пізнавальною з боку кіномистецтва та розвитку розмовної англійської мови. #journalism #journalist #creativity #creativepersonalbranding
Such an absolutely joyful day! 💕 I can’t believe how much we packed into this day 😱 10 pictures just can’t even begin to cover it!!! We made it to 4 different beautiful spots around the city and fit in 8 different looks 😱 absolute madness!!! Full day shoots are my favorite types of days! Finally we get to see all our plans and preparation come together! 💕 It’s such a fun adventure of a day to go out and just get to shoot in these fabulous outfits all day in all these fabulous locations! Ahhhhh I just love for it ❤️❤️❤️🥰

You know the question: what is your mission in life? But do you know your answer? A #missionstatement defines what a country or an organisation is all about. To give you an example: Linkedin's mission is to ‘connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful.’ But it also counts for people, for you. The idea is to express value and vision in one phrase. A mission statement answers three key questions. What do you do? For whom do you do it? What is the benefit? My personal suggestion is that your mission should offer orientation and motivation to help control and evaluate your actions. A good mission statement is personal, positive, written in the present, visualised and emotional.
