Today, I competed at the Surrey Track and Field Championships. It was a great competition! I started with a PB of 29m in the hammer and achieved 3rd place 🥉and got the hammer stuck in the net for the first time 🙈 I then went on to a high standard discus comp where I also came 3rd 🥉 and threw consistently with my best as 34.14m It was a great day, and all athletes did amazing 🤩 Thank you to all the amazing officials who helped run the comp smoothly and I can’t wait for more championships this season 🙌 🪝❤️ Special thanks to my Coach, Chris, who has helped me get to where I am 😊 Also, special well done to @matilda_farrar and @athletic.gabby for their new PB’s in the discus 👏 ❤️ @belgraveharriers @speedprotraining #thirdplace🥉 #newpersonalbest💪 #discus #hammer #surreyathleticschampionships #throwbigthrowfar

Tijdens het interclubweekend trok VS, op zondag 12 mei, naar Sint-Niklaas waar het uitkwam in de Ere-afdeling van de VAL. @lienrubbrecht stootte een regelmatige reeks maar miste wat agressiviteit. Met 10m78 werd ze 5de. In het discuswerpen bij de vrouwen mocht eerstejaars juniore @silkedelathauwer aantreden. Naast de extra druk die ze zichzelf soms oplegt, mist ze momenteel ook nog wat vertrouwen. Met 34m16 werd ze nog knap 3de. In het discuswerpen beloofde @andreas_dl z’n opwarming alvast veel goeds. Jammer genoeg kreeg hij, tijdens de wedstrijd, zijn afworp niet onder controle en moest met 53m06 tevreden zijn. In het kogelstoten stootte hij zijn beste wedstrijd ooit. Liefst 3 geldige worpen vlogen verder dan ooit, met 18m90 als beste! Hij verpulverde zijn Belgisch belofterecord met meer dan een halve meter en komt nu op de 3de plaats allertijden AC. Zijn straffe reeks: 17m52 – x – 18m69 – 18m29 – 18m60 – 18m90 Arnaud (@kasvoudenaarde) trok met zijn club naar het verre Saint-Mard. Something Special Yesterday we had something very special happen. @erikabeistle.25 had a throw of 58.89m in the discus, not only placing her first in the nation in the NCAA. This throw also broke the school record, it is the second all time best throw in division 2 and is past the qualifying mark for the Olympic Trials. So unbelievably proud of her! What an incredible weekend for @wade__baker___throws at our NSAA Outdoor Conference Championship! He was able to come home with three gold medals! Last year, he placed 2nd in the shot put with a throw of 15.66m (51’4.5”). This year, he placed first with a throw of 17.03m (55’10.5”)! Last year, he fouled out in the discus. This year, he placed first with a throw of 46.92m (153’11”)! Last year, he finished 5th in the hammer with a throw of 49.66m (162’11”). This year, he placed first with a throw of 57.24m (187’9”)! I’m beyond proud of this guy and the massive improvements he has made. He has proven himself as a competitor and it’s only backed up by his determination and work ethic.
