“Double Dubs” got his own W today. Our very own bus driver and #1 fan, Steve, was chosen for the Potter’s Hand Award. This honor is given to one Morton 709 employee per year that goes above and beyond their call of duty while demonstrating a passion for their profession. Steve had over 20 nomination letters written for him from our volleyball athletes, parents and coaches! Steve is the loudest fan in the stands and has a motivating speech ready to kick off each trip. He builds our girls with confidence in every conversation he has. He goes above and beyond by always showing up to our state games (even if we don’t use a yellow bus), buying the team ice cream after post season championships, providing VIP service and coming in early to get the bus decorated. He does more than could ever be listed. You cannot help but smile when Steve is in the gym. He shows up to make kids feel special and today, we finally got to return the favor. We have a WEBELOS! #doubledubs ranked up from Bear last night (during Ash’s graduation) and we are so proud of all good hard work this year in scouting to complete his Bear and rank up to WEBELOS (“We be loyal scouts”). We had Ash’s graduation/strings concert/choir concert (it was a lot), so thankfully we have an abundance of framily in KC who were willing to step in. The Hughes family (our Covid bubble friend and one of my bffs here in KC) were available to stand in for Will, and bonus - Dave is a Life scout so he stood in for @curby.piehl and enjoyed the experience in the ceremony. Plus Will got to play with their kid before and after ❤️🥰 Will loves @thecubscouts and we’re glad we found a den and pack where he feels included and has fun.
