Wow, what a weekend! I was so excited/anxious/nervous about vending at my first @knitcitycanada event, and man, it did not disappoint. You guys showed up, and then some! 🥰 I am blown away with the love and support from this past weekend. Thank you to each and every one of you that stopped by the booth, whether to say hello, share a laugh at our designs, or make a purchase. We so appreciate you all! ❤️ My heart was so full, and I'm pretty sure a goofy smile was plastered on my face all weekend. It was so amazing to meet vendors that I've only followed or chatted with on Instagram. So much flipping talent under one roof, it was overwhelming and awe-inspiring. Judging a Fleece Free Lecture by Jamie Stark Saturday 1 P.M. Jamie Stark will return to lead us through the details of how to judge a fleece before purchasing. Jamie is co-owner of Wooly Knob Fiber Mill and will have a booth at this year's festival. With a great depth of knowledge, Jamie will review fleece submissions and discuss with the audience pros and cons of the fleeces, and give tips to buyers for what to look for in a fleece. Many competition fleeces will be available to purchase. You can then use this knowledge to purchase a fleece from our HHFF Fleece Sale (conveniently located in the same building and is a fundraiser for the festival), or visit one of our great vendors selling fleece. Had an amazing time at the Central Pennsylvania Fiber Festival, these are the goodies I was able to get this time! My first Alpaca which i plan on blending with my angora, the bag of fiber was a mystery fiber, needle stoppers since I'm working on my first pair of socks, Yak fiber because my husband wants to get into raising Yaks, and the 2 things my husband picked out. Meet our Artist In Residence at the 2024 Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival: Julie Benac She will be giving a lecture both Friday and Saturday at the festival, and a display of her art will be available for viewing throughout the weekend in our Lecture Hall at the festival. Julie Benac has enjoyed the textile, sewing and fiber arts for over 35 years. She owns Fresh Lotus Design, a fiber art design small business with her partner Patrick, right on the shores of Lake Erie in Michigan. Here they produce hand-woven & hand-dyed artisan garments, luxury fiber blends for spinners, weavers and felters, as well as an outstanding and hard-to-find selection of hand-dyed silk yarns.
