These more traditional bouquet style pieces are numbered. Not too many of these left to do. Maybe one day we will bring them back (2025?) but 2024 will be all about the deconstructed style and creating our very own original art as we will not be taking on any commissions for the remainder of this year and next. We do have some fun projects we will be concentrating on, including creating a pressed flower, herb, and dye garden at our new home in Paonia, Colorado. Keith and I bought the home in Paonia before we had any inkling of what this business would turn into so we’ve been a bit delayed in getting out there. But it also turns out Paonia is the latin name for Peony. Officially, the latin spelling is “Paeonia”, but the post office said “no way” on having a triple vowel in the name of a town, so they had to drop the e. Turns out we have a peony bush right next to our mailbox there. How fitting. :-) I also envision building a separate studio space to one day host in person workshops. It could be the 2025/2026 plan - always fun to dream. That blows my mind bc when I’ve tried to do that, the flowers fall all over the place and it never looks the same once I cast it, which drives me up a 10 foot wall. So I like to design pieces directly in the mold, and pour the resin on it slowly to keep everything in place. Seeing exactly how everything will lay in the mold allows me to be super precise and specific in my designing. This typically results in utter chaos on my table but honestly … I’ve found that the line between chaos and artistic process is super fine 🌀🤪 Featured here is our 20” cross - one of my favorite pieces to create.
