В последние недели я все больше начинаю понимать, что больше не могу жить как раньше. С самого детства я всегда хотела только одного - дарить миру музыку. Сейчас мои 'амбиции' расширились ещё больше, и я хочу дарить людям свет, пробуждать их, объединять, давать знания, с помощью которых они могут исцеляться и помогать другим. Но одним из основных путей достижения этого я выбрала музыку, потому что иначе и быть не могло) Только все время было 'недостаточно красиво', 'недостаточно внимания в этом всем', 'сейчас есть более насущные дела и потребности'. И я упала в полный глупейший трудоголизм день за днем и отклонение от всего того, чем на самом деле хочу заниматься. Сейчас я понимаю, что устала находить отговорки. Будучи целителем, отклонение от предназначения нормально так бьёт по башке, вызывая полное недоумение 'А на что я вообще трачу свою жизнь'. И такие мысли временами приходили в голову в последний год, но точно не так часто, как сейчас... Мне как будто.. да что как будто. Я реально хочу выйти на новый уровень открытости и создавать действительно масштабные вещи, иначе зачем это всё)) Так что сейчас у меня в голове просто оочень крутые проекты, и я реально хочу кардинально менять свою жизнь, потому что иначе просто уже не могу. За последние полтора года мы создали настоящую семью близких людей вокруг. Я читаю ваши комментарии и просто шокируюсь, что знаю каждого человека. Мой круг знакомств бешено возрастает, и мы делаем это САМИ, не ожидая ничего и никого. И это нереально меня вдохновляет. Так о чем это всё на самом деле? О предназначении. Потому что это самое важное, о чём вообще стоит говорить. Я осознала то, что когда мы идём своим истинным путем - вокруг складывается абсолютно ВСЁ. Нужные возможности, нужные люди, как по взмаху волшебной палочки, начинают слетаться вокруг как птички, напевая ТВОЮ мелодию. И твоё намерение и является этой волшебной палочкой. Neil Young’s “Harvest” is an integral touchstone in my personal odyssey. The Canadian artist’s timeless addition to the musical catalog permeates across with such grace, utilizing folk music’s humbleness and soft sonic palette to drive home universal concepts of love, longing and loss. Not only is this album timeless, but I believe it’s universal appeal is because it comes through the vessel of folk music. As I have discussed before on this blog, folk music carries such wonder, beauty and a natural darkness few other genres can replicate. “Mayday,” a stellar album from another Canadian, Myriam Gendron, cuts across with such somber levity. Despite a pair of instrumentals and a few French-language songs, each and every entry in this album feels like a familiar story. Again, folk music feels like a natural vessel to capture this familiarity and capture this universal appeal. I can’t believe I almost missed this album, but thankfully I scrolled upon a Pitchfork review a few days ago and knew I had to add it to my Hidden Gem AOTY contender list. Today, to conclude, once again street music on the Sachsenbrücke. The way we experience the WGT is indeed exhausting (street music is hard work), but also very original and direct. No one is there because of us, yet so much good feedback comes back from people who couldn't be more different. I forgot to count how many small concerts we played in the streets and parks of the city. My left hand and forearm are hurting a lot by now, the strings of the D'Angelico deeply engraved into the fingertips. And yet, a good feeling remains. I always experience Leipzig as open, colorful (yes, colorful!) and diverse. Something that is really valuable these days. What I miss about being on the road: 👭The people 🌅The places ☕️The simplicity ☀️Seeing the absolute joy and love that is fostered by love music truly fuels the soul. I so rarely get pictures of the audience because I am so wrapped up in the present and in the moment. I become so deeply focused on the experience I forget about pretty much everything else and that is MAGIC ✨✨✨ ☀️The places come next - I have seen so many gorgeous beyond words places , some that have deeply surprised me, some that were disappointing and some that were in awe. Living on the road , and roadtrip journeys are always an adventure. Canada has some spectacular places and I’ve seen so many ( yet so very few in the grand scheme of it all ) ☀️ Thirdly is the simplicity. It truly puts life into perspective and weather you are crown land camping or at a provincial park , living in your car , backpacking , or living out of a suitcase , when you are on the road you have so little of the possessions you have at home your mind starts to reset and you learn what you actually need to make you happy. That can be challenging but it’s actually a part of road life I love. Being a folk singer songwriter has taken me some really wonderful places and the artists journey is never a dull on ❤️ but I am grateful for it . #roadlife #livingontheroad #folkmusician #slowlivingmovement #slowlivingforlife #artisticjourney

Back in stock on the Green Noise webstore. McDowell offered many great recordings, but I have to wonder if any others match these 1959 recordings. One also has to wonder how the world of American music might have unfolded without this 1959 discovery. I imagine so many bands and artists of the 1960s took notice, likely Dylan, Zeppelin, and Jansch to just name a few. On these recordings, McDowell offers many variations of the blues, and explores different tempos but offers plenty of focus on the faster side of country blues, everything tied up into the songs without a hint of excess, sinking deep into it, tying it up tight like reins on a horse tied to a wagon, and bringing that wagon along like a team of stallion, racked with tension, full of release, acoustic music rarely sounded so electric. I love my job so much! Getting to teach folk music and dance to young people with special educational needs is just the most rewarding thing ever. And I really do mean that, I'm not just saying it to sound good and selfless or something, it really is very fun and interesting and the people I teach are just incredible! So, apropos of not very much, here's just a big appreciation post for all at @the_efdss and @cecilsharphouse for giving me the opportunity to do what I do. My time as a full-time part of the Inclusive Folk team is coming to an end, but I really hope I'll be back to help out whenever I can! And in the meantime I am certain that the project will continue to touch many people's lives and bring much joy! Do check out the resource I co-wrote last year if you're interested in how to adapt folk dances such as Morris and Rapper for learning disabled people.
