About a year ago #Kosmopolis @kosmopolisraccontailmondo received good news: our GPP - #GlobalPassportProject had been selected for the call #Ledger which is part of the European Commission's #NextGenerationInternet initiative with the aim of shaping the Internet of the future. After 9 months of intense work, #GPP established itself among the four best projects, receiving another three months of funding. A result that is far from obvious for a non-profit project in a business-oriented context. Our thanks for this result goes to those who believed in us, in particular #FundingBox, @dyneorg and #BLUMORPHO whose aim is, through Ledger, a full data sharing based on trasparency, returning to #citizens the control of their #data by promoting the use of decentralized technologies such as #blockchain, #PeerToPeer or #DLT (distributed ledger technologies). Nigerian startup Bumpa, which helps retailers manage and grow their businesses from their mobile phones, has closed a US$200,000 pre-seed funding round to help it reach more merchants and add more features. Launched in February 2021, by Kelvin Umechukwu and Adetunji Opayele, Bumpa helps merchants move their business online without the need for programming skills. The platform allows them to set up an e-commerce store using their smartphone, accept online and offline payments, manage inventory, handle bookkeeping, fulfill orders, track sales, request dispatch riders, and engage customers. The startup has already onboarded over 7,000 merchants, with a 50% month-on-month growth rate. Merchants have so far listed more than 30,000 products and completed over US$500,000 in recorded transactions. The pre-seed funding comes from Greencap Equity, HOAQ Club, Whogohost Venture Arm, Rizq Investment Group, Microtraction, DFS Labs, Aidi Ventures, and a few other angels.
