Since about September 2023, I’ve been obsessively recommitted to graphic design - a decision I’ve not regretted at all. It’s reopened doors I thought were long closed, and I’m proud to have carved out a niche in my community as a go-to designer/illustrator for folks when they need. But with that commitment, I neglected my fine art painting habits a bit. So i’m beyond proud and extremely privileged to have been an artist-in-action at Fusions Art Gallery today. I got to mingle and schmooze and talk about my work while I painted. And better yet, I sold my piece! This was a wonderful opportunity. Tijd voor weer een 'duik'. Heerlijk gezwommen tot voorbij de Linquenda. Af en toe ingehaald door hard zwemmende mannen in wetsuit richting 1ste boei. Het was 'druk' in het water. Heel veel oranje en gele zwemboeien te zien. Dat was maar goed ook want er waren ook veel zeilboten op het meer. Niet dat die erg snel voorbij kwamen want het was zo goed als windstil. I know I said I was going to take off but I’m having so much fun fishing in LA. When I first moved to Cali I actually didn’t care for the city life so much. Being from Alaska I asked all my friends here where to fish and no one knew. I lived here for years before I started to adventure out and fish on my own. After exploring I realized SoCal is a hot spot for a variety of fish species! Being from AK I caught tons of the same species like salmon, pacific halibut and other AK fish. But the variety here is so big, I still haven’t seen all the fish species here and I fish daily! I came back to the jetty to see what’s fishing and had a quick session, I had action quickly. Within the first 10 mins of fishing I landed the calico bass. Another 10 mins passed I landed the barred sand bass. Which I haven’t caught in a while so always happy to see! The last catch took a while maybe half hour or so went by and finally the last catch calico bass! Afterwards I decided to wrap it up. Bc it was Friday and weekends everyone’s always free.
