I just opened my VC313 Grogu which got me thinking about just how many Grogus we now have in the line, so for #375throwbackthursday here they all are together! So with a season 1 Kanan and season 1 Zeb on the way…where is our season 1 Ezra? I know @hasbro seemed initially confused (audio in my story) when someone asked why we didn’t have one…saying he was on the way. Then the Hasbro rep learned the Ezra hologram Ahsoka look was different than his season 1, younger appearance in Rebels (remember…they are fans too). Hasbro talks about building the teams around the HasLab…this one is a must. Who watched the Obi Wan Kenobi series and what did you think? I just rewatched it and must say I enjoyed it more the second time around. @entertainer_toys currently has all of these reduced to £4, so I had to help my local shift some of their stock. 🤭 These are all from the Retro Collection apart from Reva, they had her modern style figure for the same price so I opted for that. GARAZEB ORRELIOS ////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// Once Captain of the Royal Lasat Honor Guard, Garazeb Orrelios now serves as a member of the crew of the Ghost, part of the Phoenix cell of the fledgling Rebellion against the Empire. This TVC deluxe Zeb figure is a perfect figure! @hasbropulse really knocked it out of the park with this one! I can’t stop taking pictures of him because he photographs so well! Everything from the paint application and the colors to the sculpt and articulation is top notch! This is a huge contender for my figure of the year! Having this Zeb figure makes me even more excited for the Ghost to arrive! Now I really want to finish the Season 1-2 versions of the Rebels crew! Sabine and Hera would be able to reuse tooling from the Haslab and pulse exclusives. Ezra would have to be an all new figure! But then we’d have both main looks for each member of the crew in TVC! Should we do a wellness check on TVC? Since the lackluster May 4th “fan”stream we have heard or seen nothing from @hasbro. After being told all of our May 4th reveals (minus the X wing pilot set) were tied to the cantin—-errrr HasLab we’ve seen nothing. Meanwhile, the other scale had Revenge of the 6th reveals and even a recent refresh wave. For a company that wants us to crowd fund another big project…they aren’t doing much to show TVC collectors any signs of life for the line. Today’s #wishlistwednesday is thinking about a product that I thought would have been a really obvious release by @hasbropulse and I’m still baffled they haven’t done it. Episode VII’s release in 2015 was one of the most anticipated releases in recent memory, and it smashed several box office records including highest grossing US domestic, and fastest to $1 billion worldwide. Fans flocked to see their original trilogy heroes on screen for the first time in decades. With @hasbro leaning heavily on nostalgia for their action figure lines, I had thought that a “special action figure set” 3 pack of our 3 classic heroes was a simple must-have item. These 3 packs were a big part of the original Kenner line, and there were several in TVC1.0. Putting the 3 heroes in their main movie looks together in this set could’ve been an excellent exclusive, with the 3 later making their way to the mainline. Why hasbro hasn’t done this is a mystery to me! Surely with the 10th anniversary next year, it’s a good time to at least consider this set? The Luke is a good figure that could have a photoreal update, and we never got these Han & Leia looks! The other scale recently had the Han archive release, and TVC had Finn, so we hope some sequel figures are still on the radar. . It’s just a bit strange how this format has been used sparingly, with other less obvious choices - the Luke 3 pack (3 figures then repacked), the 501st clone set (again they’d be repacked), and we even saw a convention exclusive Dr Aphra set (THIS IS NOT A REQUEST TO HAVE THOSE 3 REPACKED! PLEASE DO NOT DO THAT! That 3 pack was readily available heavily discounted in the following months, with Aphra’s single card clogging pegs in the uk, please do NOT bring back those droids). The other 2 were popular releases though . We’d personally love to see the 3 classic heroes in their sequel appearances released in TVC. Regardless of what you think of the movies (yes it’s a shame all 3 weren’t onscreen at the same time), you can’t deny the magic of the “Chewie, we’re home” trailer - you could have these 3 displayed on your Expanded Universe/New Jedi Order shelf if you’re that way inclined. VC167 - Power Droid Hoy vamos a hablar de uno de mis droides favoritos y si, mis queridos cazarrecompensas, este es el famoso Gonk, más conocido como droide de energía GNK. Los droides de energía GNK, fabricados por Industrias Automaton, eran simplemente generadores de electricidad que usaban códigos binarios equipados con dos piernas y una inteligencia artificial muy simple para que pudieran entender los comandos más rudimentarios. Generalmente se podían encontrar en zonas sub-desarrolladas donde una red eléctrica era muy costosa o en operaciones militares móviles. Cuando caminaban, emitían un sonido parecido a la palabra “gonk”, por lo que se les dio el apodo de droides gonk o simplemente gonk. A esta forma de sonido droide se le llamaba “Gonkiana”. Una anécdota curiosas sobre este peculiar droide es que un año antes de las Guerras Clon, Groodo el Hutt, en su intento por destruir los Astilleros de Fondor y su puerto espacial, empleó como parte de su Ejército de Control de Droides unidades GNK modificadas con blásters de repetición rápida en sus cubiertas superiores. Otra anécdota curiosa es que después de la Batalla de Endor los rumores en torno a un “Culto de Droides Poderosos comenzaron a extenderse. Aparentemente, un par de Droides de energía GNK llamarían a las puertas y solicitarían fondos para un grupo religioso marginal. El consejo del renombrado lingüista Ebenn Q3 Baobab fue que uno debería simplemente pronunciar la frase “Gonk. Gonk. Gonk ko kyenga see”, una declaración muy controvertida que no se permitió traducir legalmente según la Directiva de Seguridad de Baobab 51-C. De esta figura no he podido evitar adquirir unas cuantas unidades ya que es ideal para rellenar escenas en dioramas.
