@thetordivide Day 1 part 2 after a Pint (best @carlinguk I’ve ever had !!). We headed up and out To the Highest point off the TPT. Down past the Woodhead tunnels round the Woodhead reservoir into glossop threw Charleswoth then a massive Climb out off Hayfield up and down Jacob’s ladder and back to Edale. I’ve gotta be honest it’s Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Finished absolutely empty but was surrounded by some top people. When the weather feels like a present 🎁☀️ With Ascension Day we always take the free days to go cycling in Belgium (or somewhere else). Last year was the first time with a group of cycling friends. Take a camping field, put some tents on it, bring your bike and enjoy! Flèche de Wallonie was cancelled so we found another cyclo for the weekend, La Magnifique, starting in Rochefort. Since the car was stuck in a muddy field we decided to do the 125km of the event and cycle to the start from the camping, making it a total of 195km 3200 m/d+, 7 hours of fun in the sun. Somewhat new area for me to go cycling and it didn't disappoint 🤩☀️!! Una giornata "tipo" quando viaggi in bici: 1. Ti svegli coi muscoli indolenziti e l'ultima cosa che vuoi fare è smontare la tenda , montare la bici e pedalare. AAA cercasi caffè. 2. Monti la bici. Ok si poteva fare. 3. Colazione e poi bestemmi la prima ora di salita mentre scaldi i muscoli. Non ce la farò mai. 4. Arrivo a un bel panorama, ti calmi, respiri, in fondo è bellissimo. 5 Non è così male, si ce la posso fare. 6. Ik vind hem nog steeds leuk hoor, dus hij gaat nog steeds aan 😉. Ik heb dat bij ieder kledingstuk wat ik aanheb en waar een opmerking over gemaakt wordt. Nu heb ik een ietwat aparte smaak wat kleding betreft, dus opmerkingen kan ik verwachten, maar ik onthoud ze dus ook allemaal 😂. Ik trek mij er niets van aan hoor, ik zeg altijd; anders is leuk 🤩. Fijn weekend! 🛑 New job? That's what my son asked when I showed up in this kit. If I had become a traffic controller 😂. It's always nice when someone says something like that to you, in this case my very own son. So now I can't wear that shirt without thinking about it 😂. I still like it, so I will wear it more often 😉. I have that with all the comments made of every piece of clothing I wear. Now I have a somewhat strange taste in clothing, so I can expect comments, but I remember them all 😂. I don't care about it, I like it, I always say; different is nice 🤩. “For me riding bikes is about: getting up and outside for sunrise; movement; adventure; seeing friends and plugging into community; being out in wild spaces; commuting; challenging myself and being playful. The exercise element has always been an added bonus and never really the main objective. I ride about 4 times a week, give or take, sometimes organised group rides, sometimes solo. I find that riding can also be super meditative. On Tuesdays I ride with @nana_cycling_capetown. “Nana” is french slang for a young, badass girl - a girl with grit, one could say. The club’s mission is to up the ante of amateur women’s cycling in Cape Town in a supportive environment. We’ve been alternating speed-rides and social-rides each week to encourage the female riding community to come join group rides at a pace that feels comfortable yet also challenging. It feels like a super important space to me because we need more opportunities for new riders to hone their bike handling skills and push their limits safely. “Next came our wild-west roadtrip to shoot the new Erdgeschoss campaign. I was super stoked to be cast as one of Laz’s backup dancers. Jokes aside, it was such a fun trip and we were lucky enough to put such dope bikes to the test in some crazy places. Since then I’ve had the chance to race Road to Desolation on the pink Erdgeschoss and Stanford 100 on the Gravel Racer. Both bikes made me feel invincible! Especially the pink one with 650b’s on those sketchy, rocky descents around Graaff-Reinet. I’m super grateful for the CC x Standert project - we’re lucky to have initatives like this in our community.
