A fabulous boundless space of pale lilac color, a thick tart aroma hovers in the air, which resembles a good fairy tale, an atmosphere of calm and tranquility. This endless carpet of lavender flowers is simply mesmerizing! It not only pleases the eye, but also warms the soul! At sunset, the lavender fields take on the warm hues of an almost-set sun. The bright rays of the sun glide over the tops of the flowers, as if lightly touching them, they turn the purple hue of lavender into yellow and red. The sky and the field of flowers become one. The lavender bushes leaving in fluffy stripes to the horizon seem like an outlandish carpet on which you want to fall asleep in anticipation of magical dreams. 💜❤️💛💜❤️💛 "Sunset in a lavender field" oil on linen 50x50 cm (19.7х19.7 in) The picture is painted entirely with a pallete knife, without the use of brushes.

SNEAK PEAK.. swipe to see progress… I got sick of working on it so Ive paused the process until I feel like it again 😂This is my first and biggest oil painting project that I have started a couple months ago. There’s been some mistakes along the way that have delayed the process, but it’s a part of learning. This is not done yet, because I still have to add some flowers and add some extra details, but once it’s done, I will be reposting. This is oil, acrylic and mixed media piece. The gold frame was done by putting moulding paste in a piping bag and piping it on, and the flowers were added just by buying fake flowers and painting them. Today's workshop with Kyle Buckland Fine Art. He painted in the AM. We did the same PM. I painted using oils for the first time (since I was nine but that really doesn't count)! Jury is still out...more tomorrow. (Not sharing my first attempt! You are welcome!) We're not far from Bristol, TN and when Ken realized there was a Bass Pro Shop...? Need I say more? oil painting is wayyy tf harder than i thought 💀💀 here’s a few experimentation pieces that i made over the past week. they’re super small, just about the size of my fist, but man do they take forever. nobody tells you that paper soaks up oil paint like a sponge if there is enough solvent in it. nor does anybody tell you how easily the bottom layers smush into the new fresh layer if you treat the paint like acrylics 😵last of all, the smell of solvent makes my brain tingle. all of those artists on youtube make oil painting look so easy but it’s a trap guys, it’s a trappp. in all honesty tho, oil painting has its challenges but damn does it ever look good. the colours are just ✨juicier✨and the blending is 🤌🏼🤌🏼🤌🏼 here’s to more nights that make me want to throw my solvent cup at the wall and cry in a ball on the floor. oil painting ain’t got nothing on this obsessive brain 😈😈 here i come babyyy #art #artist #artistsoninstagram #oil #oilpainting #oilpaint #studio #artstudio #oilpaintingtechniques #oilpaintingishard #challenge #artchallenge #learning #learningsuckssometimes #frustrated #hahayoureadallthehashtags #iloveyouforthat

One of those Australian icons…. Fairy bread. My kids still love fairy bread! I’m trying to get less detailed in areas that don’t matter as much and letting one part be the hero of the piece. Some parts are messy others are tight. Oil and pastel on timber.

Still Life, Flowers and Vase: this was really an exercise in colour matching. 🍋The other day I set aside some time to tackle oil paint again. It was a lovely spring day, so I set up a simple still life on my back porch, and got to work. Oil is like this big intimidating medium that I usually avoid, but this process was a pleasant surprise.
