The diagrams were clear, and the units were fairly intuitive to fold, making it easy to pick up and memorize the pattern so i could crank out the units rapidly. The assembly was rather simplistic and went well. Some of the information provided in the book went over my head, but that in no way interfered with my ability to understand the directions. I love the braided effect it has where the three units come together! Not surprisingly, the 4 in. Marbled Patterned Paper from @tuttlepublishing looks great and has an awesome visual impact. Title~No name Design and tutorial by Valentina Minayeva Made with 15 cm Flower Patterns Duo Origami Paper, cut to ratio 3:1 (15cm×5cm), from @tuttlepublishing 60 units 11cm diameter Folded by me!😁💙💙💙 No glue I'm so grateful to @valyamina01 for sending me her tutorial. Her designs are always challenging but brilliant, and this kusudama was no acception. I told some friends about how I had to fold 60 units and that there were 36 folds per each unit. One of them immediately worked out that I was going to make 2160 folds just in preparation for assembling these units to complete this model. They wondered how I could commit myself to such a repetitive task and what enjoyment I got out of it. I thought about it a moment, then shared with them that I needed discipline to make each precise fold so that the next one falls into place and the units ultimately fit together properly and that was a challenge i enjoyed. I was able to memorize the folds after a few units were completed with instructions, and it was like a fine motor skills dance that I had finally learned the choreography to, and I enjoyed accomplishing that. I also had moments of near meditative states, being mindful and focused on my task at hand, helping to clear my mind. The ultimate thrill is fitting those units together, especially the first and last ones, completing assembly and being rewarded with the awesome creation and success after all of that preparation and investment. Modular origami has been a great resource and outlet for me in the past few years. I really appreciate all the designers who have given me the opportunity to fold their designs. I also appreciate all the people taking a look at my work and who enjoy it enough to give me a like or a comment. It means a lot to me. Beckett Comme vous le savez, je fais énormément de choses différentes et j'espère que cette année, j'arriverai à trouver un équilibre dans tout ce que je fais 🙏 Même si j'ai vécu de belles réussites, j'ai aussi essuyé pas mal d'échecs et ces échecs m'ont permis de m'améliorer par la suite pour que je puisse me relever encore plus résiliente, battante et déterminée dans tout ce que j'entreprends ! 🌈 Jour 5 du challenge créatif et introspectif QUESTION: Comment j'ai découvert l'origami et pourquoi j'aime l'origami J'ai découvert l'origami à l'âge de 5 ans lors d'une fête japonaise dans le nord: oui, tout a commencé par un atelier origami et j'ai eu tout de suite un énorme coup de cœur et depuis, je ne me suis jamais arrêtée de pratiquer et d'apprendre par moi-même. Une de mes taties a retrouvé cette photo où je suis avec mon frère @thibsciences et c'est vraiment trop chou mais ma première création était un Pikachu (qui est accroché à mon manteau). Ce que j'aime dans l'origami, c'est le fait de pouvoir donner libre court à mes idées uniquement avec une feuille de papier. Et que juste par le pliage, pouvoir donner vie à ce papier. Et ce que j'aime plus que tout, c'est vraiment le rapport que j'ai avec le papier. Pour moi, il y a vraiment un certain toucher du papier à avoir, comme si à chaque pli, je ressentais la justesse ou non de mon pli. Un peu comme en musique quand ça sonne juste ou faux. Et puis, c'est hyper thérapeutique et apaisant pour moi de plier du papier. Je trouve un certain réconfort à plier et à sentir le papier sous mes doigts. 🌈 Jour 3 du challenge créatif et introspectif QUESTION: Quelle est ta couleur préférée ? Je me suis toujours demandée pourquoi j'aimais autant les couleurs. Je crois que ça se reflète dans ce que je crée, dans les papiers que je choisis mais pour moi, les couleurs, ça apporte quelque chose de joyeux, quelque chose de réconfortant et quelque chose de nostalgique aussi. Et c'est vrai que parfois, quand on me demande de choisir une couleur, je suis souvent attirée par le jaune. Mais en ce moment, ma couleur, c'est le rouge. Quand je crée, j'adore les monochromes (et faire des dégradés de la même couleur) et aussi de mettre toutes les couleurs parce que: pourquoi choisir quand on peut toutes les mettre ? 😂 Enfin voilà, j'espère que ce que je crée pourra spark de la joy dans votre quotidien et vous mettre un peu de baume au cœur dans les moments difficiles ❤️ #origamitober #origamitherapy #inktober #color
