Intention Making the decision to take fewer, but more aligned events has been one of the scariest decisions Iâve made. Deciding that I canât do another wedding or event âjust for the moneyâ and really wanting to be true to my heart and to create for people with intention, not just using a whole lot of pretty flowers. But by taking the surroundings and season into consideration, always. Blurring the lines between man-made and nature. Itâs a risk! The conversation in my head has been constant about it, âwhat if people arenât interested in my design aestheticâ âmaybe this design style isnât something that the area resonates withâ and on it goes. And last (but certainly not least) in our team member introductions - Meet Jessica Melhorn! đđź ⢠Hello! My name is Jessica Melhorn. My husband, Allory, and I are the co-owners of Melhorn Manor. One crazy day back in August 2016, Allory (my boyfriend at the time), came to me and asked if I wanted to own my own wedding venue. I looked at him in shock and disbelief that he wanted to own and operate a wedding venue, but in one short year, the dream became our reality! Allory proposed on December 17, 2016. We started our business and renovated the property in the spring and summer of 2017, and then opened our doors on September 30, 2017âŚour wedding day! I was born in Ithaca, New York. My family moved back to Pennsylvania and I grew up in the Reading area, graduating from Wilson High School in 2004. I played soccer and volleyball while in school, and you could always find me at our home football games and menâs volleyball games cheering on the Bulldogs! After high school, I received my Elementary and Special Education teaching degree from Millersville University, graduating in 2009. I have worked for over fourteen years in the service industry as a server and bartender, as well as ten years in the field of education. You can also find me in the church nursery loving on babies every Sunday morning at the LCBC Manheim Campus. I absolutely love helping and blessing others any chance I can get! I personally meet with all couples three months and one month out from their special day to help coordinate and answer any questions they have. I love getting to know our couples and helping them plan and ease the stress along the way. I also orchestrate all ceremony rehearsals and can be found coordinating and assisting wherever needed on the day of to assure all details go exactly as planned. Every year we start the summer off with a vacation to the beach. It always ends up being the week of my birthday and Motherâs Day; back to back celebration for me! đ¤This year I entered a new decade. It hasnât hit me yet. I still feel 18. I still donât feel like I have it all together. But what Iâm realizing is that I never will and thatâs ok. All I really should be focusing on is showing up as the best version of myself in all areas of my life: motherhood, wife , friend, and daughter. For me , this means making time for me. For my style of photography, clothing with a non distracting pattern tends to look best. Avoid heavy contrast in a single clothing item and lean in towards complimentary colors.
