Finally got to see #RedVelvet today and boy was it worth the wait. So clever, so funny, and so heartbreaking (watery substance might have leaked from my eyeballs) - so absolutely relevant to the current #diversity dialogue. It was a subtle set design, with actors waiting in the very visible wings, giving space to character rather than design. It was a great cast too (really enjoyed #emunelliot in this), led by the *immensely* talented and amazing #AdrianLester who played #Shakespearean actor #IraAldridge with both vigour and sensitivity. The scenes towards the end where Ira cannot win against an unjust and ugly world were utterly overwhelming, so intense. It's the kind of experience that stays with you. Brilliant #theatre.
