Doe Mountain 🥾 1.5 miles 🥾 Out & back We originally planned on hiking Bear Mountain, but once we got to the trailhead we realized it wasn't doable after the snow rolled through, so we opted for the trial a few others had just completed. I'd love to try this hike again when there aren't inches of snow on the ground because that added quite a challenge to the climb. 😅 Doe Mountain trail takes you through switchbacks up the side of the mountain until you reach the flat top. At the top, you can wander and explore the wide area. Be sure to walk to the back side of the mountain to soak in the views on all sides! 🏔️
Fay Canyon 🥾 2.4 miles 🥾 Out & back This trail is a pretty short, flat hike that doesn't take much time to complete. I'm thankful for that because the snow storm rolled in about halfway through our hike. This trail is mostly covered as you hike through the canyon floor, so it's perfect for hot, sunny days or even days when snow or rain are a possibility. You'll hike through the canyon and finally reach a sign that says "trail ends," so that's when you know it's getting good! Go just past that sign and turn around! You'll see a beautiful view looking back down the middle of the canyon where you came from. 🏜️
We started our trip by spending a day in Flagstaff, and oh my goodness I have never seen so much snow in my life! It was totally jaw dropping! ❄️ ❄️ ❄️ The snow banks were taller than we were, and I wasn't sure if we'd ever make it out of the hotel parking lot.
Our faces when we realize it's already been a year since we went to the @sedonamtbfestival! While we didn't get to mountain bike, we were able to experience Snowdona, and it was one of the most magical sights! ❄️🏜️ I'll be sharing tips for some of our favorite hikes over the next couple of days since we didn't get to actually bike. It snowed overnight, just as predicted! I woke up to the towering red rocks of Sedona being covered in a light dusting of snow, which added a whole other element to the beauty of Sedona! I spent the day hiking to Devils Bridge and got soaked in the snow and rain and froze my butt off once again, but it was 100 percent worth it! 10/10 would recommend visiting Sedona in the winter!

Off season travel can lead to an exceptional experience! While January and February may come with rain, hail and snow in Sedona, Arizona, it’s also comes with smaller crowds. #snowdona did not disappoint and the trails were relatively empty in comparison to Spring and Fall. Dry Creek and Devil’s Bridge trails were not over loaded and photos were easily accessible at these prime location.
