Since you are visiting during the high water season, it will immediately become clear how the Falls earned their name ‘The Smoke that Thunders’. With thousands of litres of water flowing at a metre over the normal level and across an area spanning 2kms, the thundering waters cause a substantial spray as they cascade down into the valley below. Ibiza Day 3. Day didn't start the best when I bost an egg all over rhe breakfast table...but one must champion ones self! Here's my photo dump of chilling and reading, going to what I can only describe as a mash up of a Ren Fair and a UK Winter Market and fixating on my first white chest hair that was in my line of sight while reading whilst chilling...I will say sorry for the last photo now but due in large part because of the chest hair I needed some body positivity and was feeling my dad bod. Anyway...as you can kinda see from photo 7 the island has taken a kinda Midsommar vibe...and 20 shoulder dislocations trauma ain't enough to make me May Queen so time to leave tomorrow. Tag 124 Den Nachtbus genommen, eine Nacht im Hostel gespart. Für wenig Geld, viel Luxus erhalten und eine recht angenehme Fahrt. Mit einem Grab zum Hostel und dann los die Innenstadt erkunden. Mehrere der Tempel besuchen. Manche mit andere ohne Eintritt. Jeder anders und doch gleich. Viel Buddha, viel Gold und detaillierte Zeichnungen. Der Hitze entfliehen und in einen 7-Eleven Abkühlung suchen. When I decided to go to the beach vacation for my special day this year, I wanted to stay somewhere close to the ocean 🌊 I found the perfect place @lovetemplegoa —a sea-view cottage where I could wake up, open my eyes and head straight to the ocean to spend as much time in the water as I wanted ❤️ The cottage happened to be named Tattva 🌿✨ ‘Tattva’ is a Sanskrit word that means ‘essence’ or ‘true nature.’ It represents the basic elements of life and how everything is connected in this world. Staying in a cottage named ‘Tattva’ felt special to me because it reminded me of the deeper meaning of life and the beauty of nature. It felt like I was meant to stay at this place. Australia Part the Sixth - a small taste of the Wild West. Perth may not be the most exciting place in Oz but it's the gateway to some truly fantastic places. Went for a good days cycle around Rottnest Island (travel tip - don't be cheap, rent an e-bike), where I met some curious quokkas, the munchkin marsupials. Took a voyage north to the sandy dunes for some tobogganing and sand-walking. Watched the sun set on a spectacular desert and saw the galaxies appear above. And after dreaming of them for several months got a glimpse of some glorious western beaches. All in all, not a bad way to see out this incredible country. Doubtless I will carry on sharing more of my adventures here but for now it's farewell Australia. Have you ever been told a country is too dangerous to travel? I have, often by people that don't travel or that typically vacation at fancy resorts. Today's travel story is about the 1st time I was told this travel is too dangerous. I had only been on two international trips and was excited for my third. I was headed to the DR, and excited to explore. My friend said, "don't leave the resort. It's dangerous!". I thanked him for the tip. He was referring to Punta Cana, a beautiful resort town where most Americans visit all-inclusive with a gorgeous beach in the DR. I told him that I appreciated his advice. But I'm I wasn't even going to "the resort" in Punta Cana. I went to Santo Domingo, Cabarete, and Jarabacoa, destinations he hadn't heard of. I went horseback riding with beautiful views, and hiking with waterfalls. I visited a beach town that locals went to, that I later learned was famous for wind surfing. Saw a baseball game, with many players that I knew from MLB at home (very different traditions!). I practiced my terrible Spanish skills. I appreciated the wonderful Dominican culture. It wasn't all amazing and wasn't all easy, but I wanted this experience, and I'm glad I had it. The lesson - don't (blindly) take advice from well intentioned friends that never travel! Go explore, but be street smart and take precautions. Even Asa savvy travel, I've had some dicy moments I have to my travels, but I'd do it all again. Getting slightly out of our comfort zone is how we grow. These photos are from that trip, so many years ago. I was so young! Since I was lucky and had chance to stay stunning hotels with amazing views. I turn out to be more difficult in selecting hotels. I want to ensure that when I spend certain amount miney ($300~) hotel or airbnb for a night. I expect the view, location, interior of the hotel.
