1971 Mexican Spec Dodge Sweptline Short Bed - 40303U Hello friends. This is the truck you would find at the Dodge dealer in 1972. There were many more Fords sold than Dodge and even Chevrolet, mainly because of the fact that they offered a V8 engine. Under the hood of this beauty is a 225 slant 6 linked to a 4 speed manual transmission. Actually this is a 3 speed with a granny gear. The paint is really nice on this truck as is the front seat. The seat appears to be contoured to a humans back. Little details like the white wheels with the color coded hub caps make a truck like this. Being a Mexican truck it has a front side marker light but not a rear side marker light. You would get all the looks at your local car show. When you find a truck this nice you have to buy it. 1971 Mexican Spec Dodge D100 Short Bed Just look at this truck. This regular cab short bed is as cool as it gets. Under the hood is a slant 6 and it is a manual shift on the floor. The truck is said to be restored, but it is not. The truck was repaired. The word restored means to put back to original, which obviously this wasn't. Generally it looks good, but I would need to take it apart and do it right. The upholstery needs to be done again, the stitching doesn't line up from the back to the seat cushions. The wood bed should be wood, not painted blue. I am not picking it apart but it could be so much better. On this truck I don't think the huge wheels don't look that bad. I am not a fan of their style, but they look good filling up those large wheel wells. The VW center on the steering wheel is interesting. I am sure the original horn button can be found. When the starter goes out of your truck in a parking lot less then a mile away from 2 auto part stores and a dodge dealership, 2 hours before 2nd shift starts.
