Realising the high cost of the COPO 9560 would restrict demand there was a proposal to build a more “steetable” version of the car, codenamed the COPO 9567, that included equipment from the Camaro RS; spoilers, steering wheel and racing mirrors as well as special stripes and wheels. It may surprise no one to learn that different brands have different ownership costs, and with that in mind, Chevy was rated as one of the more affordable brands on a total 10-year cost basis. According to a report from Consumer Reports, the Bow Tie brand was ranked sixth overall in regard to ownership costs over the course of a decade at $5,400. For reference, Tesla stood at first overall at $4,035, while Buick followed in second place at $4,900 over 10 years. Meanwhile, Land Rover was by far the most expensive brand at $19,250. 1976 Camaro “Europo Hurst” Frua Matteo Licata 27 November 2023 Pietro Frua exhibited his own take on the second-gen Camaro at the 1976 Turin Motor Show. However, the Turinese coachbuilder left most of the donor car alone this time, save from a rather slick hatchback conversion. Integrating a large hatch door required a near-complete redesign of the Camaro’s rear end, which lost its curvaceous haunches. Nonetheless, the result is rather graceful and could easily pass for something built by GM itself. Another neat detail: the clever use of black paint to visually connect the donor car’s window profile with the new rear quarter windows. The same can’t be said for the redesigned front clip, though, which looks rather bland and generic. This Camaro started life as a regular coupe but was treated to a Hurst T-top conversion after it arrived in the U.S. in early 1977. The lawsuit against GM is currently in its earliest stages with a demand for a jury trial filed by Kazerouni Law Group, APC in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California, on behalf of plaintiff Judy Cho. The lawsuit alleges that smartphone-sized cloning devices are available on Amazon and elsewhere online which can be used to detect and copy the Keyless Entry and Keyless Ignition functions of a nearby Chevy Camaro keyfob. The Man Who Finally Made the Corvette Mid-Engine Is Retiring After almost 50 years at General Motors and more than 30 making Corvettes more awesome, all good things must come to an end. Corvette Executive Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter, is retiring. All good things must come to an end it seems, even if that good thing lasts for over three decades. Juechter began working with Corvettes in 1993, joining at the tail end of the C4’s reign as America’s sports car, but just in time to dig into the then-revolutionary C5. Prior to the launch of the C7 Corvette, Juechter was promoted to Corvette Chief Engineer, just the fifth person to hold that title. When the Obama administration realized that Corvette was one of the only profitable model lines, the C7 arrived. Tadge and his team followed it up with the brilliant, mid-engine C8 Corvette, the machine that took home our 2020 Car of the Year honors. What a difference a mirror makes! The tiny mirrors on @bobmatranga's #1968chevroletcamaro stuck up in the air too far and were too small to see anything.
