The 1st Lady of The MAMBAS played her 1st "Official" Middle School game yesterday (she's been playing in 8th grade divisions since she was 6 🤣) The parents on the team call her "The 6th Grader" because she is the ONLY 6th grader on the 8th grade team. . She was a bit nervous and Air Balled her 1st Free Throw but Sank the 2nd and she was on her way to a big scoring game but her team came up short against her Big Sister TeeTee @aubrykids who is one of the best 8th graders in the City! . He is the reason I really don't like being called Mr. Aldridge at work because when I was getting in trouble at school, I would hear them say "Mr. Aldridge, BrandAn did this today..." 🤣 jk Honestly, he has accomplished soo much in life that I do not deserve to share the same moniker as A GOAT! I say it every year but I'm gonna give my Pops his flowers because he is the the true definition of Low Key but if you get the opportunity to talk to him and get to know him, you will understand what a Blessing to this world he is! Today was one for the record books...each of them played on their own team and all won Championships! We don't play for trophies but seeing all 3 of them running the show was special! We were bouncing back and forth between 3 gyms from 10am-9pm! Ariy's 3/4th undefeated AGAIN Amiya's 5/6th Undefeated AGAIN s/o @coachjason_24 for the call and letting Briyan run with his Very Very Talented 17u team! If your parents are your 1st Teachers, the same can be said that our Dad was our 1st Coach! Happy Birthday to our Hall of Fame Dad! To raise 3 successful Black Men in the 70's/80's through the height of the Gang Culture in Inglewood utilizing sports as a distraction and outlet for not just Us, but our friends and the community to stay safe and engaged in something productive while keeping us on track for College and Life is nothing short of a miracle! All 3 of us have continued his legacy of Fatherhood & Coaching to raise exceptional Student Athletes of our own...adding 3 more college degrees to his mantle for a Batting of Average of 1000% at 6/6 so far with more coming in a few more years! Like our dad, our impact extends past our own kids and stretches out into our communities with each of us establishing our own Baseball & Basketball Programs that have done for the youth around us what he did for the youth around him! @mambahoops @rockstarbaseball @bayubaseball are our reincarnations of Sportsman Little League (If you from Inglewood You Know What's Up) We didn't have to turn on the TV to wish we had a Dad like Cliff Huxtable or George Jetson or a coach like Tommy Lasorda or Pat Riley because our dad was All Those Guys! My only niece, who has layed the foundation for Ariy & Amiya as an athlete and young lady underwent successful surgery on her Achilles today ending her gymnastics career @uncgymnastics....or did it? I hope our MAMBAS remember the nuggets he dropped on them in 2015 when he came home from #Harvard and took the time to speak to them about his #MAMBAMentality as a kid from Inglewood who played baseball at the #1 HS school in the country (Harvard Westlake), while excelling academically and ultimately being accepted to Harvard.
