“Shadow work is the path of the heart warrior”- Carl Jung. 🐆 Dit weekend reisde ik met mijn jaargroep door het westen. Daar waar het in het medicijnwiel herfst is. Waar de zon ondergaat en we zicht krijgen op de donkere stukken. De plek waar we terugkijken op ons leven en de balans opmaken. De fase van volwassenheid is aangebroken de stap naar het echt doen zoals jij het zou willen dus ook. 🐆 Het krachtdier wat bij ons was op deze quest is de jaguar. Zijn moed, warmbloedigheid en vermogen om over de regenboogbrug te lopen van daar waar zon opkomt naar waar die ondergaat geeft zicht op waar je vandaan komt en nu bent. De plek waar schaduw zich laat zien is zijn natuurlijke habitat. Daar waar dualiteiten zichtbaar worden en zijn vermogen om een clean kill te maken helpen om achter je te laten wat niet zoveel meer toevoegt. 🐆 Een verhaal wat mij diep raakt zal ik hier ook delen voor iedereen die wel een beetje moed kan gebruiken. 🐆 Op een dag komt de jonge jaguar een kleine groep herten tegen. Hij achtervolgt ze voorzichtig, probeert zich de lessen van zijn moeder te herinneren, maar voelt zich onzeker over zichzelf. De herten draaien zich om en zien hem, en hij wankelt en staart hen wezenloos aan. De herten lachen hem uit. Waar is je moeder? Wij zijn niet bang voor jou! De jaguar keert terug naar huis en zal een aantal dagen niet alleen uitgaan. In plaats daarvan loopt hij achter zijn moeder op jacht, nors en zich klein voelend. Ten slotte keert ze zich tegen hem met een krachtig, beschermend gegrom. Volg me niet. Ik ga niet met je jagen. Je denkt dat ik de houder van de macht ben, maar jij bent de houder van je eigen macht. Vergeet nooit: je bent een jaguar. Terwijl de moeder de bomen in springt, ziet de jonge jaguar zichzelf duidelijk. Ze heeft haar kennis over overleven met hem gedeeld, maar ze heeft hem nooit de kracht gegeven die hij nodig heeft om een jaguar te zijn. Ze kan hem dat niet geven, ook al zou ze dat willen, want die kracht zat altijd in hem. Vanaf die dag waagt hij zich in nieuw territorium als een jaguar, vult zijn buik, houdt het evenwicht tussen de wezens en vervult zijn lot. 🐆 #beajaguar #beyou

Wednesday evening JRLA hosted its first semester art exhibition! Our scholars created amazing, original pieces! We saw self-portraits, paintings, digital art, and even miniature sculptures! I loved seeing the smiles on the faces of our scholars and hearing other scholars say, “I wish that I had art this semester!” Shoutout to Mrs. Grihm, our Art and Design Teacher, who produced this phenomenal event!
