I've just finished a bunch of schoolwork, and am soon going on a quick vacation. So, no in-depth articles for the next week or so. Instead, I offer a video of one of the Ringed Seals at the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan (likely Queen Yuki, but I am not completely certain) chompfing on ice. Although Ringed Seals keep their ice holes open mainly through their long nails, Weddell Seals on the opposite pole of the Earth use their teeth to keep ice holes open. I am not entirely sure if Ringed Seals chompf on ice to keep their holes open, but it seems possible.
