THE GEMS *Phoenix* 2024 Purple Vinyl LP (Limited to 300 units) The album "Phoenix" is the debut of the band The Gems, formed by former members of the band Thundermother. Members Guernica Mancini, Mona Lindgren, and Emlee Johansson came together after leaving Thundermother to make music under a new name. The album "Phoenix" symbolizes a kind of rebirth for the musicians and contains 16 songs, including three interludes and an acoustic version of the quasi-title track "Like A Phoenix". The music remains true to earthy rock, with influences from hard rock and sleaze rock. Guernica Mancini's strong and distinctive voice carries the album, ( l adore her voice) which includes both driving riffs and soulful ballads. Thundermother's story began in 2009 when the band was founded by Filippa Nässil. After several successful years and albums, there was a major upheaval in 2017 when Nässil decided to replace all the remaining band members. This led to a reorientation and further successes, but also to further lineup changes in the following years. The release of "Phoenix" by The Gems marks a new beginning for the musicians, who want to continue their musical journey independently of their past with Thundermother. It is a testament to their resilience and desire to evolve and express themselves musically.
