Post two of two. Picture shows an affirmation for change and self love. OK here goes. We’re all in this together. I’m here for you. This post is not gender specific. Insert “dad” and “son” when applicable. I once knew a woman (Suzie Q/ Bob the badass) whose mother was a night nurse in the 60s. We will call the daughter Sasha Fierce/Bob Jr., the builder. When Sasha and her sisters asked how Suzie’s shift went, Suzie always replied the same way. “Nobody died. It is the only thing that you cannot undo. It is the only thing that is permanent.” Sasha Fierce explained to me that Suzie did her best, and somehow Suzie found peace in the fact that her best was enough. (I don’t know what her reply was when someone did die.) Although I never knew Suzie Q, I took the quote to mean that she was willing to let go of things that she couldn’t control. #BeLikeElsaAndLetItGo AND #HonorYourEmotionsAndYourself Suzie was willing to acknowledge her reality as a human and a nurse; and she made space for her human emotions without shame or judgment.* A great and uncomfortable starting point for us as humans, yes?
