“I didn’t even notice the smell of the toner last appointment! It smells sweet? Floral? Fruity?” YES!🤩 One aspect I love about Surface is it’s naturally derived ingredients! Smell a little floral? That would be the Amaranth Flower Protein that helps rebuild the hair, smoothing the hair and locking in color after a lightening service. What about fruity? Fruit lipids maintain moisture balance and provide omegas 3, 6, and 9.🌸🪻🥑 Don’t forget about pectin! Found in the cell walls of apples, carrots, and lemons (to name a few), pectin is my absolute favorite ingredient because it replaces that hydrolyzed wheat protein that has no business being in a gluten free lifestyle and aids in the binding of ingredients, and helps gently lift and deposit color. That sweet smell is derived from bassu oil which is the LIGHTWEIGHT moisture provided with surface products (one of the few oils that actually penetrates the hair strand and moisturize from the inside). Fun fact: depending on the mixture, the toner can smell a little different each time!
