Would you believe these are vintage windows made into built-in cabinets? đ¤Żâ â The vintage window built-in cabinets are a personal triumph in the #ProjectBlackOak design! I discovered these reclaimed vintage windows during a market trip and had the idea to use these as doors for some niche built-ins. â â Fast forward to the beginning phases of designing Black Oak, and I knew these would fit perfectly into the living room design, mixing old with new. We recessed the built-ins into the wall on either side of the fireplace so that the vintage windows were flush with the drywall and wrapped the cavity in white oak for a more finished look. We even included outlets inside the niche to plug in any electrical components!â â I LOVE the finished look! This is what weâre lovingly coining the art room! I wanted to create a space that inspired kids to unleash their creativity, have a safe place to make a mess, and a place to store all their craft supplies... all in one! â â While this room was designed with the little ones in mind, I wanted the space to still look visually appealing and feel like a part of the European luxury Black Oak design. A fun mash up of floral wallpaper and painted cabinetry was our solution! It's details, details, details again in the guest bathroom, and I couldn't choose a favorite if I tried! I wanted this room to feel just as â¨luxurious⨠as the bedroom (see previous post!). â â The guest bathroom vanity was so much fun to design. For one, this cute little cabinetry was made to look like a found piece, but its faux drawers actually open up door-style to have great open storage and then has bottom drawers below. We added a scalloped backsplash and an unlaquered brass faucet for an ultra feminine look.â â And we had to bring the Calcutta Viola in one more time with this jaw-dropping shower. This incredible purple-veined tile paired with the complementing hex tile we ran through the entire bathroom floor made for such a wow moment, especially paired with the exposed unlaquered brass plumbing! â â This is so weird, but be sure to zoom in to see the little cross-design toilet flush lever. Hi there đ There are a lot of new faces around here, and I thought it was high time we got to know each other a little better! â A little about me⌠I am 38 years old, living the dream out here in Oklahoma. As a mom of four little people ranging in ages 7 to 13, my house is messier than you all probably think, but I am learning to ârest in the messâ and enjoy these fleeting, once-in-a-lifetime moments with my kids. â â I am a pretty driven person, so it can be hard for me to slow down and be present as I am always thinking, planning and dreaming of what I can do to make KLD and Heritage House the BEST they can be for all you lovely friends out there. â â I got my start in interior design by the fortuitous chance of marrying my home-builder husband Scott of @mcgregorhomes. If you asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up as a little girl, I would have said interior designer, BUT I never really knew how to pursue that career and instead wound up with a degree in Modern Language Education â thatâs right I am university trained to teach you Spanish of all things - ÂżQuĂŠ raro no?â â Which brings me to my third greatest love in life. Behind Jesus and my family, I LOVE tacos (ok fine, I love my friends and my team - who are also my friends - but after that itâs for sure tacos). Catch me with a Coke in hand, or if Iâm really lucky a margarita, and a shrimp taco, and I am in my happy place! I believe there are two types of people in the world - those who live to eat and those who eat to live. You can find me planted firmly in that first category. â â Bringing joy, laughter, fun, and beauty into life is what I think I was put on this earth to do and I LOVE that I have a career that allows me to do all of the above. KLD and now @kldheritagehouse exist to bring that same joy and beauty into your homes. So whether you are here to get inspired, want to be friends, are looking to work together, or are just passing by â I am truly so glad you are here! â â But enough about me⌠who are YOU?!
