We got this LR4 tank in 2022.. very 100% stuck.. out on a country road one night. My husband/part time Rover Mechanic somehow managed to get him stuck in a very old, very icy snow drift. We both blame it on the tires and being too slow going up a very steep hill with passengers and a horrible snow drift in the middle. We called in the Discovery for help. He pulled us out in 2 seconds… Atleast a Toyota was not involved in Rover recovery.. we still blame it on user error!! But in all seriousness.. the Discovery 2 is a super tank!! The LR4 is a daily driver- we baby it! 😆 And we had non Land Owners in there so we had to be gentle- only reason we got stuck 😂😂 But in all seriousness- our Discovery blew head-gaskets once, our LR3 (@180k) has no issues, same with our LR4 (92k tbd) They get a bad rap— because most people don’t take care of the small issues! Peregrine just arrived from a long voyage overseas. She was built in Solihul England in September 1998 as a 50th Anniversary Edition Defender 90. She was then shipped to Japan along with a few hundred other 50th Anniversaries, where she lived an obviously pampered life. She has only covered 36k kilometers, which equates to only 22k miles. These 50th anniversary Editions are very similar to the 1997 NAS Defender 90s. They share the same 4.0 Land Rover Gasoline V8, automatic transmission, Safety Devices Roll Cage, full carpeting, and numbered plaque. There are a couple differences including right hand drive, and different exterior lighting. Peregrine also sports the very rare and desirable power window option. She is in fantastic condition and is very rare and collectible as well as a joy to drive. Here’s a look at Project Sand Rover - living up to its name. This NAS AA D90 project was a year long restoration with Bill at @outlandmotors - in collaboration with @exmoortrim. The goal with this project was to create a fun and unique look - while being easily reversible back to NAS “spec” if needed. Part of the challenge with the renovation was how far to take it. Going for a complete rebuild offers simplicity in decision-making, unlike the endless choices of partial restoration. I think we’ve achieved a great balance: it looks really sharp and mechanically everything got dialed in, yet it retained an authentic lived-in feel. Let’s start with the the Exmoor kit: * In the front we have a set of Classic Flute Oxford Tan heated seats * Matching Premium Lock Box in the same finish * A 3-piece Moulded matting system. * In the rear we have four Inward Facing Tip Up seats - also finished in the Classic Flute Oxford Tan. * And finally a NAS 90 Full Hood in Black. Breakdown: * Paint-refresh and minor body repairs with supplemental work to hood and fenders. * Powder-coated and paint matched AA yellow Wolf HD wheels. * New Bf Goodrich A/T CO2 tires. * 2” Fox shock kit. * Tom Woods drive shafts - front and rear. * Stainless steel break lines. * New V8 decals. * New radio housing and radio. * New kick panel trim. * Powder coat all new trim pieces. * New loadspace OEM rubber mat. * Toe board trim set. * New rear seatbelt kit and hardware. * New lug nut set.
