Weekend wrap up. We went to @toowoombakartclub for round 1 of the winter carnival. It was a huge meeting which is testament to everything the club has been doing to improve and grow over the last few years! It was a double direction weekend just to add some extra excitement and challenges. We were definitely not at our best this weekend and it definitely showed. Heat 1 p2 -> p1 Heat 2 p6 -> p3 Heat 3 p1 -> p3 Heat 4 p3 -> p3 Putting us in p3 overall for the weekend. Congratulations to @jblsuper72 on the win and Luke on p2 you both drove well all weekend. Well round 2 @coffskart championship was a wet one that's for sure. It had been a long time since we last raced in actual rain (approximately 2 years) so we went into the weekend without feeling super confident. Practice we kept the kart on the track and got some useful information while still getting a p4 lap time. For qualifying we made a slight change and went about getting it done. We were able to improve and put it on the front row in p2! Heat 1 was very wet still and we were having a good run starting to make ground on p1 when we hit a puddle and sent it sideways dropping us down a bit. We stayed calm and focused and drove back up to p2 but forgot to cover on the last lap and lost p2 on the last corner... we won't make that mistake again. Heat 2 well it all fell apart. The kart started on the stand at the grid however would not try to start on the grid and resulted in a dns which killed our chances of any podium finish for the weekend with the all points count format. Heat 3 threw another curve ball at us going to a slippery dry track which we did a great job to come from p8 up to p3 less than a tenth behind p2. Final we expected rain to come so made a slight change and while the rain did come it didn't fall as much as we expected and the changes didn't work. We went backwards and finished in 7th place. Overall points put us in p5 for the weekend which is a pretty good effort considering we got a heap of points added for the dns. We kept it smart on track and didn't fire it off in the tricky conditions. @ipswichkartclub round 4 has been run and won. Qualified p2 behind Oliver Williamson Heat 1 we were able to put some moves on in the closing lap of the race to take the win Heat 2 we dropped back a bit and couldn't catch up Final we dropped to 3rd off the start and took a couple of laps to get going but we could only really match pace with Oliver and couldn't close the gap to finish p2. A solid result overall. Round 2 of the @kartingaust Australian Kart Championship has been run and won. A bit of a tough weekend to adapt to the track and perfect our driving but what a fun track it was. @easternlionskartclub thanks for hosting a great weekend of racing and providing top notch facilities Thanks to all the officials and volunteers and medical team for allowing us to go racing safely. Qualifying didn't go great for us putting in a lap only good enough for p9 putting us on the back foot for the weekend. Heat 1 was a decent drive moving forwards to p6 Heat 2 the race start went a bit pear shaped and we got shuffled back managing a p7 finish Heat 3 moving up to p7 on the grid we drove forward and finished 4th Heat 4 from 5th we were off to a great start but had a tangle at turn 3 dropping us down some places. Recovering to finish 7th For the final we put in our best laps of the weekend and came home 5th. A good overall result but now we need to push harder at the next 3 rounds to get back towards the podium again. Round 3 of @ipswichkartclub championship done and dusted. Back in the old chassis and with a wet track for heat 1 we made the call to roll out on slicks and went from 6th to 2nd. Heat 2 saw some lap 1 turn one bumps and spat us out nearly off the track. Fighting back for a 3rd place finish. Heat 3 and the final were much the same starting p2 finishing p2. We spent the day trying more things with the motor we have some issues with but in the final it was evident we were lacking in the driver department. We will review the footage and improve. After struggling to get up to speed during practice we didn't think this would be our result at the conclusion of the weekend. Great day out @ipswichkartclub for my first race of the year, and RND 1 of the championship in the KA3 JR light category. The day turned out super successful and I came home with P3 out of the 40 kart field. The meeting ran random grid and my results are as follows: HEAT 1) P23-P6 HEAT 2) P14-P5 PRE-FINAL) P3-P4 FINAL) P3-P3 Thanks to @william_yarwood from @projectxracing, and @kriswalton68 for help and guidance throughout the weekend, @parolinaustralia for the kart as well @ultimatedieseltuning and @simplex.elevators for helping make my racing possible.
Round 1 @ipswichkartclub Cadet titles will go down as one to remember. Heat was an absolute killer being mid 30s and definitely feeling like alot more. But that didn't stop us going racing. Qualified on pole! First time outside of Toowoomba putting it at the front. Heat 1 - winner π Heat 2 - winner π Heat 3 - winner π Final - winner π We kept it consistent all day and fought hard when we needed to. The first few laps of the final the lead changed about 10 times between the front 4 karts but we stayed focused and pushed on and managed to walk away with the win! Congrats to both @harlenbell.racer and Ollie for taking the other 2 steps on the podium as you both raced well all day with 4strokes being in the way. Thanks to @projectxracing for the guidance and the new boots for both the kart and @sparco_official boots for my feet after we had a blow out in Oakleigh and had to finish with a taped up boot. @parolinaustralia the winning chassis a 1-2 in the class on a very tough day racing. This old girl has done some miles. Went down to Victoria this weekend to compete in the Junior top guns event at @oakleighgokartracingclub The weather gave us a curve ball right from the start. Light on and off showers mean practice 1 was on a drying wet track. We went out on slicks and got a feel for the track which was slippery. Practice 2 it was dry enough but we had the setup wrong which meant 18th fastest was all we could manage. Qualifying wet and drying track meant we chose wets like the majority of the field however we just couldn't get it together to be fast for 1 lap yet. Qualifying in 19th place. Race 1 we needed to move forward and finally having a dry track we improved our times and pushed forward 19th to 10th place. Race 2 starting from 10th we got shuffled back due to some race start misfortune and managed to fight back to 11th Race 3 starting from 10th again we were able to move forward finishing in 6th place. A great improvement over a few sessions. Then we hit the reset button and went again for day 2. Practice we managed a new pb however only quick enough for p10 Qualifying we found more pace and managed a 7th place Through the heat races we had some bad lack at the race start of heat 1 where we dropped right back to 12th before fighting back up to 7th place. Heat 2 we pushed forward and came home 6th For the final we had some good early pace but fell away a little at the end. Finishing 7th with a pb again. Giving us a points finish for the weekend of 6th place overall a great result with alot of learning on such a fun technical track. On Saturday last weekend, I headed to @ipswichkartclub for the final round of the championship. It was the Capri Cup which meant the direction of the track was reversed. It was a great day of racing even after a shaky start at the beginning. My results from the day are as follows, Qualifying: P14/24 Heat 1, I had a good start and from there on I slowly moved forward to finish P8/24. Heat 2, a rough start shuffled backwards, although I pulled myself back together and moved through the field to finish in once again P8/24. Final, after being consistent through both of the heats I earned myself a sixth place starting position for the final, and after a great start I made a mistake on the first lap which lost me my touch with the leaders and from there, I finished P8/24. All in all it was a great race meeting to sum up the year of karting at Ipswich which had many highs and lows. I would like to thank Dad for always spinning spanners @simplex.elevators and @ultimatedieseltuning for all the support, as well @parolin_australia for the kart and @projectxracing for the help.

Condition were π₯ π₯΅ π₯ Progressed through the racing Heat 1 p8 -> p1 Heat 2 p1 -> p1 Heat 3 p1 -> p1 Heat 4 p1 -> p1 Heats 3 and 4 the competition was there pushing hard with all of the top 4 getting down the the 43.5 second lap time. The @wash_it_australia nsw state titles have been run and done! Fridays practice we ran some older tyres and had decent pace heading into racing. Qualified 2nd place giving us a good starting point. Heat 1 saw us get shuffled back to 4th and fight back to 3rd. Heat 2 a better start saw us maintain our 2nd place and go on to finish 2nd Heat 3 we needed to tuck in behind first and 3rd and then got shuffled back to 4th. Fighting hard back up go 3rd and finishing there. Final we got off to a great start and then it all started to fall apart. Finishing up in 4th place at the chequered flag. WINNER π @ipswichkartclub round 7 done and dusted! Backing up from Melbourne akc round and dads workload being high meant only 1 practice session to get back up to speed. A big field of 23 other racers including the national champ @brocknolanracing We scored p11 in random grid and due to 2 p platers having to start from the rear of the grid we were able to start from the same position both heats. Heat1 we moved forward up to 4th in the 8 laps Heat2 it all fell apart going backwards from 11th to 18th and struggling to get it together finally with 3 laps to go we moved up 7 spots to finish back where we started in 11th. Heat 3 we started from 5th and got a great start moving up to 3rd by turn 1 following on the train infront. The race was red flagged early and we were stopped so medical could make sure all drivers were fine. Once we restarted we had a 3 way battle for the top 3 positions eventually finishing 2nd For the final we moved up to 3rd place starting position. We went with Brock through turn 1 and went on to battle it out for the lead. On lap 5 we took the lead and started driving a small gap in between. Well we finally managed to put it on a podium at an @ipswichkartclub club round. We were super lucky to make it there after dad stuffed the kart up. Luckily for us the first start was aborted and we were able to take the 2nd start. @jon_targett saved the day and fixed dads mistakes and got us on the grid. From there it was a 12 lap battle for the win with Jack Musico and we managed to hold on to cross the line first. 3 wins 3 weeks 3 tracks! @projectxracing Thanks for everything you do week in week out! @parolinaustralia this chassis is on rails! Another weekend another win! @toowoombakartclub winter carnival round 2 we arrived late Friday meaning no practice for the weekend. Race 1 5th > 1st Race 2 5th > 1st Race 3 was reverse direction and we were feeling confident after practice. However the motor didn't want to go at the race start and we fell from first to the back of the field. Fortunately after about a lap it came good and it was time to chase down the field. Pushing hard managing to cleanly navigate the rest of the field and close down the gap to first and make a clean pass and go on to win. This Race earned Riccardo the presidents award! Race 4 we had some issues starting the kart to go to the grid. Got it started and it all seemed good until the race start. Fouled the spark plug and we couldn't get it to break past it. We had a 7 point lead going into that race and luck was on our side. 3 karters crashed on the opening lap resulting in dnfs. This promoted us to 7th with a misfire. We Circulated a couple of laps and then pulled in for a dnf in 7th place. This had us tied on points for first place waiting the result of the race. Last weekend, my Dad and I headed to our home track of @ipswichkartclub for RND 4 of the @kartingaust championships. We had a great time competing in our first national round since last year. I got some awesome results throughout the weekend, including a P5 in one of my heat races and P15 in qualifying, as well as P8 in most of my practice sessions. Unfortunately my weekend was sent backwards due to an accident in one of my races. This pushed me back to P17 overall for my starting grid in the final. Throughout the final, I worked my way forward to P10 by the half way point of the race. Unluckily, because of a few collisions I got shuffled back in the last few laps of the race to P15. Overall it was a fantastic weekend which I really enjoyed and had a lot of fun competing in. I would like to thank @projectxracing for the help and support over the whole weekend, @parolin_australia for the super fast chassis and my sponsors @ultimatedieseltuning and @simplex.elevators for helping to make my racing possible. @pace_images πΈ

Well, we have been having fantastic races all year and you always need highs but also get some lows. Unfortunately this round was our low, we have learnt and will try and build on this and just take it as it was, a weekend with friends. Thankfully, we can keep smiling as we do and reflect on the reason why we do it, because we love it. We have a great team and great people around us which we are thankful for. Well what a weekend it was at Round 4 of the Australian Karting Championships at Ipswich Kart Club. After the massive working bee the Sunday before and stocking up the softdrink fridge on Thursday, the volunteers/officials had a massive 3 days from Friday. Unfortunately my body/voice had given out by Saturday night so I couldnβt help on Sunday. I instead got to watch the finals with mum at home, being her first time she has watched a kart race. I didnt get to take many photos but itβs always a joy to help out. I even got to help a fellow TCC member change over his chassis. Our club has an amazing team of dedicated people that are always there to ensure that race meetings run as smoothly as possible. Love these guys, our club and our track. We headed to Warwick this weekend where we competed in a field of 19 drivers. It was a good day on Sunday with random grid. I started from 15th and 5th, where I finished in the positions of 7th and 3rd. These results set me up for a 4th place start for the pre-final. Which was a good race until I was caught up in a crash in front of me placing me back to 9th. That was my finishing position even though we we showing top three pace. After the disspointing pre-final I was starting 6th for the final, where I managed to slot into seventh off of the start and from there I began to work my way forward. By lap three, I had gotten my self into the second position and was lapping fastest on track catching the leader. Until I was in an accident resulting in me being placed back to 5th and losing my touch with the front two. After this incident, I tried to get back going and keep working forward but by turn one of the next lap, I of was off the track and had a kart flying over the top of me, ending my weekend by the fifth lap. All in all it was a successful weekend, where we showed strong pace and weβre able to get some kart time before AKC this weekend coming. Darwin titles has been tough, 34deg heat and a very unique and tricky track to adjust quickly. 4 Practice rounds yesterday we had been in around P2, P3. But the track has completely changed and missing the corner can push us 4/10th off due to the rubber build up. 3rd heat we had a local not happy with us in front and decided driving over the top was a good decision. So a DNF, bent Kart and a few injuries ended that heat. Thankfully we have @projectxracing in our corner and a little old school MacGyver got the Kart racing and we got started in P8 and drove to P5. Finals tomorrow, we will just give it a crack and try and move forward π

Qld State Titles β We had a fantastic weekend away at @townsvillekartclub racing and have come away with a fantastic 9th position and 3rd fastest on track. Things didnβt go our way in many of the starts over the weekend, but we got it done and kept pushing for a top 10 finish goal! Had a decent weekend @ipswichkartclub for the AKC Shakedown with some good results. On the first day, we had three races, a practice and qualifying, in which we got good results throughout. Unfortunately for our final race of the day I was driven into and across the top of by a slower driver which we had overtaken. This completely destroyed the front of the go kart. On the second day of racing we got to the track early to repair the kart with the help of Will and Murph from @projectxracing. We only had two races on the Sunday where we started from 7th in the last heat and 17th in the final. We were able to make up six spots to end the weekend in 11th. Overall it was a great two days of racing getting to have some fun and learn some new things.
