A new EZ-80 rectifier valve, a new JJ EL84 output valve, new F&T dual Filter Cap, and a few signal caps and resistors here and there have this little giant wreaking terror and havoc on the local village folk! Had this little Russian beasty on the bench the other day. The mighty Yerasov GTA-15! This thing absolutely rips, such a fun little amp, not much of a looker but the tones this thing puts out are incredible. Really nice build quality too, beautiful looking transformers and really neat layout. Added adjustable bias and replaced some burned out screen resistors with some nice 3w wirewound Sfernice numbers. Lovely Fender Dual Showman on it's way out of the workshop. Came in for a revalve and service, ended up fixing a pretty loud ticking tremolo aswell. Fitted some Tube Amp Doctor 6L6WGC-STR's which I really love, they're modelled after the old short bottle General Electric 6L6's. Sounding great, probably sounds better through an appropriate cab too! Another JCM2000 modded and sounding absolutely killer! This time it was the venerable DSL50 on the bench. This amp proved to be a worthy nemesis with a cathode resistor going open circuit after replacing some faulty capacitors in the tone stack. This led on a bit a wild goose chase but we got there in the end and the results speak for themselves. This thing absolutely slays!
